The History of Ginette Brogan – founder of the Brogini Boot brand.
At the age of 15 (with an intense entrepreneurial drive!) I left school and dove head first into the world of business by opening my own farm shop. Over the next two years I went from strength to strength, including winning the Shell Live Wire of the Year award for young people in business, beating more than 3000 entrants. I noticed a gap in the market for high-quality equestrian gear at a reasonable price, and driven by my passion for horses I started sourcing second hand tack from auctions and selling them on. It gave me so much pleasure to see the enjoyment my customers got from getting themselves a good deal that it made me want more. To keep up with demand I moved to a bigger premises in Birchinley Manor Equestrian Center and started Euro Style Saddlery which specialised in sourcing the highly coveted European brands at affordable prices. I would travel back and forth from mainland Europe to the UK, sourcing excellent deals for my customers.
In 1998, after a chance encounter with Clare Whitaker at Gothenburgh Horse Show, we started the John Whitaker International brand which provides quality equipment and clothing for the horse and rider. It was during this time we would distribute the Italian Riding Boot brands. However, these boots were expensive, had very long lead times and were not always suitable for the UK market.
During my trips to Italy I would study the Italian production and learned everything I could about quality, fit and style. In 2004 I took the plunge and started my very own company, Brogini Ltd. I took everything I had learnt and brought the Italian style to the UK market at a price affordable for everyone.
The next part of my adventure would happen in 2012 when I became a single mum to Gio – juggling two businesses and a newborn is no easy feat! Gio definitely takes after his mum and his entrepreneurial side is already shining through.
Over the years we have gone from strength to strength and the range has grown massively to include country boots, childrens boots and casual footwear.
The company ethos of good quality, affordable boots rings especially true today – and I truly believe everyone deserves a good pair of comfortable boots whether they be for dog walking, horse riding or hiking!
I am extremely proud of the range and the team who helped make it happen and will be eternally grateful to all our stockists who have helped us grow to where we are today.

TIPS TO KEEP YOUR BOOTS IN PEAK CONDITION
LEATHER CARE
Any build up of dirt or grime should be wiped clean with a damp, clean cloth as soon as possible. Yard manure, salt water and chemicals can be exceptionally corrosive, so make sure these are cleaned as soon as possible. Be careful not to rub too hard, as debris can damage the surface of the leather. When using leathercare products, always test on a small area first. After cleaning or applying products, you should always allow the boots to dry naturally for at least 24 hours, and keep boots away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
WAXED LEATHER CARE
Due to their tanning and treatment process, waxed and oiled leathers will pattina easily. We recommend using a high-quality protector cream or spray which will prevent stains which can be hard to remove. Often (especially after a change in temperature or after long periods of storage) waxed leathers and rubbers will ‘bloom’ and appear to be covered in a white powder. This is superficial and will not impede the performance of the boot - in fact it’s completely natural and is simply excess oil or wax expressing from the leather and rubber. Simply buff the surface with a clean damp cloth to remove any excess.
GENERAL TIPS
Try to be gentle with zip pullers - they actually work better when using a smooth gentle pressure. Boots and zippers may be stiff when new, so ask for help when zipping up - forcing the zipper will cause breakage. Zippers should also be cleaned on a regular basis - a dry toothbrush works perfectly if you don’t have a specific zipper brush.
Remember, always pull the zip down fully before putting your foot in - forcing your foot into the boot when the zip isn’t fully down can break the zip apart.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE I NEED?
We have included size charts for tall boots, country boots and gaiters within this brochure. All you have to do is measure your legs and match your measurements up with a Brogini size. Our boots use a unisex sizing, and the foot sizes are generally true to size, however the Como and Casperia boots have a slightly narrower foot, meaning you may be more comfortable in a size bigger,
I AM INBETWEEN SIZES - WHAT SHOULD I DO?
We can help you! We can offer advice for each model we sell and we have special tips and tricks to make sure you look good and feel comfortable. Most of our tall boots have been designed to incorporate a certain level of stretch, so we usually recommend rounding your measurements down. This will stop your boots sagging and ensuring a good fit. Heel lifts are also a great tool - especially when breaking boots in. Leather boots will drop between 1 and 2 centimeters, so heel lifts can make breaking in your boots a little bit more comfortable.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR YOUR BOOTS
STEP 1 FOOT SIZE
Brogini uses a European sizing chart which allows for more sizes than standard UK Sizing - see the next page for a European - UK conversion chart. Brogini boots tend to be true to size, but if you have wider feet you may benefit from going up a size on our competition tall boots. If you are unsure, feel free to contact us for advice!
NEED A HAND?
STEP 2 CALF WIDTH
In a standing position with feet flat on the floor, have a friend measure the widest part of your calf. Remember to wear your normal riding legwear and measure both calf muscles as they may differ. Most of our boots feature an elastic panel that will allow for some stretch, so round down if you are in-between sizes.
STEP 3 HEIGHT
In a standing position with bare feet and a slightly bent knee, get a friend to measure from the bottom of your heel to the crease of your knee. Remember, leather boots will drop around 2cm with wear, so always round up. You can always wear heel lifts to make the boots more comfortable until then.
