Your new Universal Bit has a huge range of applications, so take some time to experiment with both the snaffle ring and the cartwheel. Attaching your bit at various points will change how the bit is held in the horses mouth, as well as how much contact you have with your horse and how much pressure the bit applies. To help you we have outlined a few different methods you can use.

THIS POSITION ALLOWS THE BIT TO MOVE FREELY IN THE HORSES MOUTH, ENCOURAGING THE HORSE TO ‘SOFTEN UP’.

THIS POSITION PUTS MORE PRESSURE ON THE SIDE OF THE HORSES MOUTH, GIVING THE RIDER GREATER CONTROL OVER STRONGER HORSES.
路 CHEEK PIECES ATTACH TO INNER RING 路 路 REINS ATTACH THROUGH V-POINT AND SNAFFLE RING 路
THIS POSITION LIFTS THE BIT HIGHER IN THE HORSES MOUTH, STOPPING THE HORSE CROSSING THE JAW AND LIFTING THE TONGUE OVER THE TOP OF THE BIT.

THIS POSITION LIFTS THE BIT HIGHER IN THE HORSES MOUTH, INCREASING THE PRESSURE ON THE POLL AND DISCOURAGING HOLLOW BACKS.

THIS POSITION PUTS LESS PRESSURE ON THE POLL WHILST STILL MAINTAINING GOOD HORSE/RIDER CONTACT - PERFECT FOR SCHOOLING.

THIS POSITION INCREASES PRESSURE ON THE POLL AND ON THE SIDE OF THE MOUTH, WHILST ENSURING EVEN CONTACT.
