ABOUT SOARING FLAMINGO Inspired by the hidden beauty of Empakaai Crater, where flamingos regularly flock for feeding, we chose the name of our company: Soaring Flamingo. It re­ flects the intent of our company to provide access not only to the most popular places of Tanzania’s Northern Circuit but also to the hidden beauties in the area and by doing so promote a more comprehensive understanding of the country and the people. Soaring Flamingo Company Limited is an officially licensed tour operation com­ pany specializing in safaris and trekking tours in Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. The company has been co-founded in 2007 by two friends, a Tanzanian and a Swiss citizen. Our highly motivated and experienced local staff proficiently design and run safaris and trekking tours at the highest standard. Our experienced driver guides show you the fascinating wildlife in the most spectacular national parks. Moreover, we encourage you to take a step beyond: Experience nature with all your senses on a trekking tour through spectacular scenery like the Ngorongoro Highlands, the forested slopes and the lake of Empakaai Crater or Oldoinyo Len­ gai, an active volcano. No matter how you travel, Soarring Flamingo will provide you a most memorable experience.

On our organised wildlife and cul­ ture safaris, you stay overnight in tourist class hotels or camps. On custom-made trips, we also offer ‘budget’ and ‘luxury’ accommoda­ tion. On the trekking tours, you are camping and/or staying in huts. To ensure a comfortable and re­ laxing trip, Soaring Flamingo and its staff are taking care of the en­ tire infrastructure.

The prices in this brochure are based on a group of four adults using double rooms. They include all essential services during your safari and/or trekking tour, i.e. trans­ port (excluding international airfare), park fees, accommodation, meals, and, where ap­ plicable, cultural programs. These prices are valid until December 31, 2012.

Mount Meru is an impressive peak of 4562m at the heart Arusha National Park. Although neither as famous nor as high as Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru offers you an equally if not even more fascinating experience. You start your trekking tour in the bush of Arusha National Park and continue through the lush forest and the mountain moorland to reach the alpine desert at the summit. Along the way you are likely to encounter a variety of different animals such as giraffes, buffalos, elephants, antelopes, monkeys and a variety of different birds.
