T HE L EGAL PROCESS IS Q UICK AND E ASY Legally Speaking The couple must submit a formal application for marriage and declaration of personal data, along with a notarized afÞdavit with proof of no prior marriage. Those not marrying for the Þrst time must provide proof of divorce. Widows or widowers must present the death certiÞcate of the deceased spouse. Photo IDs must be presented and a notarized copy of each document left behind in the country. The entire process takes 2 to 3 working days. Expect to receive a legal marriage certiÞcate back home in 6-8 weeks.
