Evaluation 7‐ Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Looking back through to my school magazine task I cannot believe how different my music magazine is to it. When I started the course I had never used Photoshop, Blogger, Flickr or Issuu so to see how much progression I have made is quite shocking. I would never have thought I would have been able to achieve the product I have so for that, I am quite pleased. I found that through experimenting with the tools I was able to learn a lot and use these when it came to my final product. I can immediately see there is a great difference between my school magazine and my music magazine. My school magazine was quite basic and there were hardly any techniques used, I kept to the basics because I wasn’t advanced enough to be more adventurous. I can tell that the text on my school magazine is all the same whereas on my music magazine there you can tell that I have used an outer glow to give some of the text more definition. I learnt how to use word spacing and alignment to give more of an effect to the text. I have also used different websites to help me with my masthead whereas on my school magazine it’s hard to tell I even have one. I used the quick selection tool which allowed me to erase big bits of a picture I didn’t want then I could carefully go around the bits I had missed with a soft rubber whereas before I wouldn’t have known how to do this. I believe I have progressed a lot and I think it is quite clear when comparing my school magazine and my music magazine actually how much progression I have made.
