SUMMARY OF PRIOR PRESENTATIONS

Inclusion + Equity THIS GUIDING PRINCIPLE WILL LEAD US INTO PRODUCTIVE AND VISIONARY CONVERSATIONS WITH THE COMMUNITY Our Brookfield team places high value on local, minority-owned, female-owned, and veteranowned small business participation in all of our projects. The approach for the Ohio State University project is a two-step approach, which includes both attraction and recruitment as well as mentoring and training. The Brookfield DEI team will inform all community input and subcontracting efforts for the project. We will identify opportunities to engage all stakeholders in the project. We pride ourselves on not only delivering great projects to the community, but also our ability to bring the community into our great projects. Brookfield recognizes that part of our developer role is to educate, engage, and excite the surrounding neighborhoods about the investment being made in their community. We will ensure that we are maximizing the power of this project and the impact it can have on the community. Brookfield's social inclusion approach is based on underlying strategies designed to reflect the six core strategies that have consistently shown success in evaluating a citizen-centric framework that encourages engagement and diversification in business and workforce.

OUR PROCESS

Integrity + Impact LONG-TERM PARTNER FOR OHIO STATE We are global leaders and have been local to Ohio for nearly a century. Our operations in Cleveland support the development and management of dynamic commercial, residential and mixed-use real estate across the United States and our global business.

Commitment to Community OUR EXPERIENCE WORKING LOCALLY COMES DOWN TO OUR PEOPLE, OUR RESOURCES AND OUR PROCESS ROOTED IN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

PORTFOLIO HIGHLIGHT:

PIER 70 SAN FRANCISCO, CA “They have a gold standard in community engagement. The speed at which they moved from Entitlement to being in the ground is extraordinary.” ELAINE FORBES EX EC U T I VE DIR ECTOR PORT OF SAN FR ANCISCO

Our robust engagement process is critical to our visioning and planning efforts. Through a series of gatherings with a broad set of stakeholders, we ensure that everyone is heard and that their input is incorporated. This allows us to cultivate strong early concepts and clearly communicate what the Ohio State Innovation District vision is, as well as create partnerships with organizations and businesses that may become key partners. The Road Map:

ENGAGE + LISTEN Community engagement should be honest, respectful, and transparent. We are committed to operating ethically and making a positive impact in the communities where we develop.

EDUCATE + COLLABORATE Community engagement should be accessible and balanced; listening and capturing a full range of values and perspectives. It should promote dialogue and open genuine discussion.

INFLUENCE + INCORPORATE Community engagement should be reflected in outcomes. The community should be able to see and understand the impact of their involvement and how it's integrated into our vision. 14

OUR PROCESS

OUR FULLY INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT APPROACH A ONE-WINDOW APPROACH STRUCTURED TO DELIVER LONG-TERM VALUE Brookfield is organized to deploy expertise across locales, sectors, industries and business strategies. Our ‘Owner + Operator' mentality informs how development interfaces with investment and operational considerations at every juncture during an asset's life cycle to ensure special places are brought to life for the long-term. Our approach to balancing global resources with local leadership enables us to apply a diverse pool of expertise locally, designed to harness Brookfield's global capabilities across horizontal, mixed-use and sports-anchored development in a way that maximizes application for Ohio State University.

OUR PROCESS

ESG Case study 5M San Francisco, ca In June 2018, we partnered with community organizations and city agencies to host a breaking ground community event for the 5M mixed-use development in San Francisco. We supported local businesses by partnering with food trucks and collaborating with a local art organization, 1AM Gallery, to provide onsite art activities with attendees. Our 5M team also worked to ensure the continuation of "Off the Grid," a weekly lunch gathering of food trucks and a favorite amongst locals, even during construction. In addition to creating new open space, affordable and senior housing, and office space dedicated to arts and culture, the 5M development will create 1,200 new jobs and support 4,100 workers on site during construction.
