FROM THE MASTER PLAN, DEVELOP THE COMMUNITY CENTRE ON THE *THE CHOSEN SITE IS INDICATED IN RED. GIVEN SITE WITHIN THE GIVEN ENVELOPE. STUDENTS ARE FREE TO PROPOSE WHATEVER COMMUNITY FACILITIES THAT THEY SEE FIT FOR THE SITE BASED ON THEIR SURVEY, RESEARCH AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE AREAS SURROUNDING THE SITE. STUDENTS ARE TO DEVELOP A BRIEF FOR THE PROJECT, THEN PROCEED TO DESIGN THE PROJECT. TOTAL GFA SAY, 5,000 SM, AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STOREYS IS 6.

COMMUNITY CENTRE [8 WEEKS] AS PART OF THE KL2020 CITY PLAN, DBKL PLANS TO INCLUDE MORE PEOPLE-ORIENTATED SPACES IN THE CITY OF KUALA LUMPUR, FOR EXAMPLE, COMMUNITY CENTRE. A COMMUNITY CENTRE IS PUBLIC LOCATION WHERE MEMBERS OF A COMMUNITY TEND TO GATHER FOR GROUP ACTIVITIES, SOCIAL SUPPORT, PUBLIC INFORMATION, AND OTHER PURPOSES. THIS COMMUNITY CENTRE COULD BE A LIBRARY, LEARNING & TRAINING CENTRE, COMMUNITY THEATRE, HEALTH FACILITIES, FITNESS CENTRE… PRECEDENT STUDIES: 1 LOCAL, 2 FOREIGN TOTAL GROSS FLOOR AREA = APPROXIMATELY 5000M2 MAXIMUM HEIGHT: 6-STOREY TYPE OF COMMUNITY SERVICES: INTEGRATED LEARNING AND TRAINING CENTRE COURSES/WORKSHOPS: I) TO COORDINATE HIV/AIDS (CHRONIC DISEASES) PROGRAMME WITH THE GOAL OF ELIMINATING DISCRIMINATION VIA EDUCATION, PREVENTION, CARE AND SUPPORT INTERVENTION; II) TO PROMOTE HEALTHY LIVING VIA PROPER DIETARY PLANS AND EXERCISES; III) LITERACY CLASSES (COMPUTER/MODERN LANGUAGES ETC) TO SERVE THE LESS FORTUNATE AND THE UNDERPRIVILEGED PEOPLE. INTRODUCTION CONCEIVED AS A LINK BETWEEN NATURE AND THE VIBRANT MULTI-CULTURAL COMMUNITIES THAT SURROUND IT. UNIQUE YET NOT FOREIGN TO ITS SURROUNDINGS, SUNSET COMMUNITY CENTRE IS AN ELEGANT AND TRANSPARENT BUILDING, CAREFULLY SITED ON A MAJOR THOROUGHFARE TO GIVE THE BUILDING VISIBILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY TO THE COMMUNITY. THE BACK AND SIDES OF THE BUILDING SERVE AS A BACKGROUND FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES WITH ITS SPECTACULAR SOUTHERN VIEWS AND SETTING AMONG THE FIELDS, GREENHOUSES AND PLANTING BEDS. 3 PRIMARY ELEMENTS THE TILT-UP CONCRETE WALLS, THE CURVILINEAR ROOF AND THE CURTAIN WALL

INTRODUCTION A GROUND-BREAKING SUSTAINABLY DESIGNED TO FULFIL THE VISION OF ENHANCED EDUCATION, SOCIAL INCLUSION AND A CONTINUOUS EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT, WITH A CENTRE DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING PARENTS THEMSELVES STILL IN SCHOOL. THE BUILDINGS MAXIMISE DAYLIGHT; ALLOW NATURAL VENTILATION THROUGH PASSIVE STACK EFFECT TECHNIQUES AND LOWENERGY DESIGN; THE BUILDING MASS ACTS AS HEAT SINK FOR WARMTH IN WINTER AND COOLING IN SUMMER; AND INTELLIGENT UNDER-FLOOR HEATING AND PIR LIGHTING RESPOND TO MOTION.
