Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and School Community: On behalf of the Board of Education for Brookwood School District 167, I hope that this message finds you all safe and healthy. We miss our students and the daily routines and connections we had with each of them. I want to publicly acknowledge all of our families for continuing to support the education of our children at home during this Remote Learning Phase. All of your efforts are noticed and needed as we continue to get through this unprecedented time and these exceptional circumstances together. As you know, Governor Pritzker extended our school closure through April 30th, 2020. As of Tuesday, March 17th we have been focusing on the continuity of student learning and many of our students have been reaching out to teachers on a daily basis (interacting via Zoom, phone conferences, Classroom Dojo, emails, text messages and Google Classrooms). During the days and weeks that followed, we were able to roll our [Remote Learning Plan]. As we progress, this Remote Learning Plan will be edited, revised and updated. Today, we began our [Technology Loan Program] and all schools are deploying technology devices to students in need. This is the first time we will engage in the deployment of technology (ON LOAN) to students for home use. That is something to celebrate and I know we can use the model we are creating for future circumstances. If your child needs a device and you were not able to come today to complete the loan agreement/attain a device, please e-mail your child’s principal to schedule another time for pick-up.
