specifically to address the pandemic? (A) Click Here to Find Help ==> findhelp.org (Q) What other aid is available to families? (A) idhs p-ebt money is available to all of our families: • COVID-19 has turned many families’ lives upside down, and we want to spread the message far and wide that the application for this extra money is now available! The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) is working in collaboration with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to notify families that all children that would receive a free or reduced price meal if school was in session, even if a district wide eligibility school, are eligible for P-EBT regardless of income or citizenship.

Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) SNAP allotments equal to the daily reimbursement for free lunch and breakfast multiplied by the average number of school closure days in the month for each eligible child in the household. $3.50 Lunch + $2.20 breakfast = $5.70 daily cost per child. • The Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 provides the Secretary of Agriculture authority to approve a State agency plan for temporary emergency standards of eligibility and levels of benefits under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008. Children who would receive free/reduced price meals under the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act, if not for the school closure are eligible under this provision. • The link for the application is posted on our website.

Grading (Q) How will 4th Quarter Grades be determined? (A) Grading for the 4th Quarter of the 20192020 school year is outlined below.

Per the

Illinois State Board of Education guidance, all Brookwood School District 167 teachers will be using the following guidelines for grading. Please note that the first concern of all Brookwood 167 staff is the safety and well-being of our students and their families. It is understood that parents will do the best they can to support their children with remote learning amid all of the many challenges that COVID-19 has presented. To the extent that it is possible, students are required to engage in remote learning. Remote learning can be accomplished with students completing many online options and/or by completing a hard copy of Instructional Learning Packet #3. If needed, parents may still request a device (iPad or laptop) on a loan basis for their student by contacting the building principal. Principals: Longwood School Dr. Patterson Email: rpatterson@brookwood167.org Hickory Bend School Mrs. Jackson Email: sjackson@brookwood167.org

Brookwood Middle School Mrs. Pierce Email: onowels@brookwood167.org Brookwood Junior High School Ms. Larson Email: jlarson@brookwood167.org There are a variety of online resources available to students.

Many of these

resources are the same ones used when students were actually in the classroom. Some of the resources provided are new and provide students with choices and/or differentiated learning options. Staff are looking for “student engagement” of any kind with any of the online resources they are providing daily and/or completion of the instructional learning packet. Any attempt by students to complete assignments is

“acceptable”.

Teachers

will

provide

feedback for work completed or work attempts through google classroom, Class Dojo. email, zoom meetings, pictures, videos, or phone calls.
