Broomfielder, or are new to the area and just getting acquainted, my desire is to bring you closer to the thriving community we have right here in Broomfield. This issue is all about exploring Broomfield. I have spent the past few months getting to know the community and people that are the driving force behind its growth. I’ve come to understand on a much deeper level why Broomfield is one of the most desirable places in the nation to live and raise a family. Meeting with local business owners, educators, and leaders in our community, a common thread amongst everyone is this: serving others well, and treating others as they wish to be treated. From our experts in real estate, to local schools, to healthcare and dining, we are truly blessed to be surrounded and supported by people that seek to put others first. With that said, I’m honored to have the opportunity as your publisher to connect with you. I place high value on feedback, and would love to hear your thoughts as you read through this first issue of Broomfield Lifestyle. fast, casua l, a nd del iciously homespu n ARTICLE LAUREN HENDRICK PHOTOGRAPHY SARAH DAWN PHOTOGRAPHY

INTRODUCING JARED AND ALYSSA RAMOS, TWO CLASSICALLY TRAINED CHEFS AND THE OWNERS OF HOLLAN-DAZED RESTAURANT. The couple strives for perfection for their guests, and, as Alyssa put it, encourage them to “break them out of their shell!” Jared and Alyssa label their breakfast restaurant as “fast and casual,” a perfect description for their unique and personal approach! The intricate entrees are delivered quickly, and the service is impeccable as well as convenient. Everything down to the sauces, syrups, and sausages are handcrafted in-house. For example, the pork that composes the sausage, like many other ingredients, is from a local farm here in Colorado that specializes in high-end meats. The attention to detail is impressive, but not surprising from a couple who travels the world to discover new ways of creating amazing food. When asked about the inspiration behind the eclectic menu, Jared detailed the plethora of culinary talent that is the fastpaced, revolving door that is the prestigious restaurant scene in Las Vegas. For the couple, every visit to sin city was a new experience in fast, casual cuisine that was simultaneously innovative, sophisticated, and made with passion. Jared and Alyssa agreed that the avocado toast is one of the most popular items on the menu. If an entree could get dressed everyday in the morning, this one would be draped in gold and white robes, donning a flower crown.

10

Broomfield Lifestyle | September 2021

THE CHEFS AT HOLLAN-DAZED RESTAURANT SERVE FAST, CASUAL CUISINE THAT IS SIMULTANEOUSLY INNOVATIVE, SOPHISTICATED, AND MADE WITH PASSION.

The toast itself is thick-cut, vegan, and embellished with seeds. Poised on top is a fresh sliced avocado rose, dressed arugula and their green goddess vegan Hollan-Dazed sauce. Chile roasted pepitas and a watermelon garnish complete the luscious ensemble. The entire dish is vegan, unless you choose to add bacon, pork belly, or an egg your way. Smoked tofu is an option, too, of course! The unique menu offering at Hollan-Dazed is not the only detail-oriented aspect of the restaurant, the creativity runs deeper than the spectacular entrees. There are hidden film references throughout the establishment. Stop by and see if you can identify these, and other “easter eggs'' that are hidden in plain sight. Needless to say, Hollan-Dazed is a cultivated, avant-garde breakfast place with what seems like endless possibilities. Jared described the concept of the restaurant as “a unique and eclectic take on your childhood favorites,” but, again, the owner’s humility sells the menu short, as the assortment consists of homespun, visionary creations that bring a unique and exciting culinary culture to Broomfield.

SERVING TOP-NOTCH BEER & COMMUNITY SUPPORT

PHILOSOPHY Rails End Beer Company was started by Dale Reeder as he closed the chapter on a long career in corporate America, and the sun rose on running a neighborhood brewery. The name, and respective logo, is based on a feeling that a painting stirred in Dale during a trip to Breckenridge, while the brewery was just getting off the ground. The breathtaking painting followed train tracks through Rocky Mountain tunnels, disappearing and reappearing, then disappearing again. To Dale, the ‘Rails End’ represents the never ending, and ever changing, journey that we all call life.

BEER The beer selection at Rails End Beer Company is wildly assorted, including everything from lush IPAs to peppery stouts to earthy ales! The beer that flows through the taps of Rails End carries hints of everything under the sun--from cherry to key lime pureé to toffee to pine to ripe mango to white wine! Fan favorite brews, the Blood Orange Double IPA and the Blood Light, are actually so popular that they are now distributed to local liquor stores. CONTINUED >

Dale emphasized the importance of supporting those who serve their community, and will hold the event in October, details to be announced. Dale explains how he, himself, feels very supported by the Broomfield community and their continued business despite the halts due to the pandemic. “To the people of Broomfield, I would just like to say, thank you, you all are the reason we are still here.”

But just as the quest for perfection doesn’t end at functionality, it doesn’t end at aesthetics either. At DRD, the quest for perfection can go well beyond conventionality. In order to achieve aesthetic excellence, Dr. Goggins and his team approach cases in creative, forward-thinking ways. FINANCIAL BUZZ

5 RE A SONS YOUNG FAMILIE S NE E D LIFE INSUR ANCE NOW. WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY MATTERS, YOUNG PARENTS WHO ARE JUST STARTING OUT HAVE A LOT TO JUGGLE: THEY MAY BE PAYING OFF STUDENT DEBT AND SAVING FOR THEIR FIRST HOME, ALL WHILE RAISING KIDS. But it’s also a time when young families may be the most financially vulnerable should the unexpected strike. To ensure that they have financial protection when they need it most, purchasing a life insurance policy should be top of mind. Here are five reasons why young families need life insurance:

01

You just never know. While it’s not the most pleasant thing to ponder, an emer-

gency situation could quickly put your family’s finances under water. In fact, only 40 percent of

to be set in stone. As your family’s needs change, you have the option of considering other policies.

03

It may not be as expensive as you think. If you’re on a budget and are convinced

you can’t afford life insurance, consider term life insurance. It guarantees protection for a set amount of time provided premiums are paid when due. Since it’s not designed to last a lifetime, the annual premiums are considerably lower when you are younger.

1Annie Nova, “A $1,000 Emergency Would Push Many Americans into Debt,” CNBC, January 23, 2019. We know it’s not easy for young families to make their life insurance needs a priority, given all their competing financial obligations. However, permanent life insurance is a vehicle for protection that is not only affordable, but can also help families accumulate cash value and can ultimately propel them toward reaching both their immediate and far-reaching goals.
