Observing a school of stingrays swimming above the underwater tunnel at the aquarium was a memorable experience for me, and I was mesmerized by the rhythmic uniformity of their movements. If the image can be recreated in the city, urbanites rushed in the currents of time will certainly also be hypnotized by its beauty.

The 3D rendering shows the different faces on day time that there are beautifiul shadows on the ground. As the reason, LIGHTWAVE is not only the well-shaped atmosphere light but an artcraft with sunlight.

In postmodernism movement, high-tech has been a fashionable style when it comes to product design, which calls for the usage of latest materials and process technology to construct an appearance of elevated quality and style.

Lightwave uses the latest advancements in flexible solar panels to power the LED lights as well as the WIFI station, all of which are concealed within the two curved metallic enclosures recreating a marine life like visual in the overall design.

Inspired by dragonflies that are prominent life forms around clean waters, SolarWings is a solar-powered houseboat where solar energy is harvested from the highly efficient, flexible solar-panel rooftop structure, which can be adjusted easily to capture sunlight at appropriate angles.

India is well-known for its beautiful landscapes and water bodies. As tourists flood into India for more guided- and eco-tours, existing houseboats and ferries powered by diesel fuel would increase pollutions to the beautiful rivers and endanger the water species. SolarWings also uses natural materials such as local wood, rattan and vetiver fibre as main construction materials, to maximize its sustainability and allow tourists to be close to nature.

India has often been described as a country with rich, colorful culture and magnificent nature, and it is a preferred choice for tour among both Asians and non-Asians alike. The Indian houseboat design leverages on India’s rich cultural elements, and aims to balance the use of local natural materials and craftmanship with high-tech solar energy system. It is designed as a tribute to the people of India who passionately governs and protect their country’s natural beautiful waters.

Kerala at the southwest India is known as one of the most beautiful states in India, and is famous for its backwaters (lagoons and lakes) cruises, boat races during festivals, hill stations and wildlife. During summer Kerala has great sunshine and is thus perfect location for a solar houseboat.

Solarwings is a concept of bionic design by dragonfly that mimic the wings swinging for absorbing more solar energy. The above pictures say that have three steps to open the wings.

There is our boat space plan whitch devides three parts. First part is that tourist living area which contains sleeping room, dinning room and excerciseing space. Another section is used by crews living and sleeping. Third area is the controlling room for captain that has high safety solar boat controlling system.

It is in awkward situation when a birthday cake is about to be presented to the birthday kid without fire to light up the candles. The concept Ladroo combines the functions of both match and candle. Ladroo is a green design as it is light with friction, thus reducing the need of buying matches or lighters.

We combined the production process of candles with matches that modified some steps to make it viable for mass production. As the safe matches, we separated the trigger chemical compounds into two parts. One is in the head of match candle and the other one is on the package. Besides, we use the wooden candle wick to make it solid enough for rubbing.

SEAL TRASH Trash Can
I have a sister who pulled out all the stops during childhood to avoid taking out the garbage, so naturally I ended up as the one in the family with the job. An inspiration hit me one cold day out while waiting for the garbage truck, that if a trashcan can automatically seal and pack the bag, the odor and the cockroach problem can be greatly reduced, and might even cure my sister of her mysophobia.

This shape is twist triangle column that is easy for placing in the cornor. The trashcan devides in 3 parts but in one smooth shape that make the product look more delicated. There is an important part in the middle witch is the camera shutter-like seal system which can easier to package garbages.

There’s no limit to what can be explored: Use the stand to view prepared slides, or remove the microscope from the stand and head outdoorsentific thinking and investigation and the ability to perform calculations.

I stay in the lab all day conducting experiments, and have to work with pipettes extensively. However, the current design is a pain on the wrist, and the incovenience drives me crazy. It’s time someone improves the pipette design for the poor souls working in the lab.

Here is a computer rendering of the new design in a typical lab environment. The main objectives of this project is to improve the ergonomics of holding the pipet and to shift the operating pressure from the thumb to the four fingers. To emphasize the design targets, I combine the words “pipette” and “comfort” to name the new design “PIPETCOM

IVtaken is a pressurized intravenous infusion system. It allows patients the freedom to walk around whilst being connected to an intravenous drip.

Patients complain that the current drips are awkward to carry and they feel stupid when walking around with them. Current IV Drip are gravity fed so have to be held above the patients arm. They are held with these ugly metal stands that are cumbersome to walk with and restrict the patients movement, usually confining them to their bed.

There are drafts for the drip design, the important things is about the hand grip. It is that people easy take away and hang on when patients go to toilet.

In general, to prevent injuries from different parts of our bodies, we have to buy different protectors to fit them, which results in movement difficulty. Though the elastic bandage enables us to move more freely, it lacks for the ability of protection. Now, Tapecare combines the techniques of STF and Gecko tape, producing the elastic bandage of protection, which fits all the different parts of the body.

Sport protection A shear thickening fluid, also called a dilatant, is a Non-Newtonian fluid where the shear viscosity increases with applied shear stress. This behavior is only one type of deviation from Newton’s Law, and it is controlled by such factors as particle size, shape, and distribution. The properties of these suspensions depend on Hamaker theory and Van der Waals forces and can be stabilized electrostatically or sterically. Shear thickening behavior occurs when a colloidal suspension transitions from a stable state to a state of flocculation. Such behavior is currently being researched for use in body armor applications by companies like Dow Corning with their Active Protection System. A large portion of the properties of these systems are due to the surface chemistry of particles in dispersion, known as colloids.

Gecko Tape Geckos are renowned for their exceptional ability to stick and run on any vertical and inverted surface. However gecko toes are not sticky in the usual way like chemical adhesives. Instead, they can detach from the surface quickly and remain quite clean around everyday contaminants even without grooming. Following the discovery of the gecko’s adhesion mechanism in 2002, which is based on van der Waals forces, biomimetic adhesives have become the topic of a major research effort. These developments are poised to yield families of novel adhesive materials with superior properties which are likely to find uses in industries ranging from defense and nanotechnology to healthcare and sport.

AMiS means ADVENTECH Medical intelligence System. It is my internship project that AMiS nursing cart accessories research and design. My partner and I have visited many hospitals for observing user’s behavior, how nurses or doctors use work with current medical cart. After discussing with them and analysis the observation, we found many problems in the operating process.

In the beginning, we didn’t clearly know the direction on this project so we started from finding the main value of this topic, the most adaptable design accessories solution for this cart in Asia. We discussed one issue by many point views and debate each other.

There are containers for storage in the market. We categorized these products by functions, shape and prize then summarized that to be a table. These products made by plastic, Acrylic or wood that made us to get more references to design.
