LAMY TO SIGN personal data security My concept is security pen. There are 2 phases of usage between physical and digital. If user wants to use signature as a way for validate that will use the fingerprint to trigger the pen and sign on the interface. Then the fingerprint encrypted signature will upload to LAMY security cloud for login the system.

This is the process of finding the identity of LAMY brand which is plenty of different form features and without a strong consistency because there is no design apartment in LAMY. They always cooperate with different designer team each case so this situation makes me to use an image analysis to define the dimention of LAMY future pen. I also observe some product detail to understand the different design laguage.

Touch sizes are based on Nokia recommendations: for thumbs, an 8mm touch target with 2mm boundary and for fingers, a 7mm touch target and 1 mm boundary. The sensors from 148 mm 2 and up will with a very high probability capture enough features for the algorithm to be able to securely determine the authenticity of a finger presented to the sensor system.

After I defined functions and product system, I did some prototype for testing ergonomic factors including usibility and anthropometrics which helped me to find the drop shape cutting plan. This combined benefits of circle and triangle plan that make user holding that more comfortable.

result After final evaluation, I decided this streamlined form from the previous products image analysis of dimention and to fit the drop shape of cutting surface. On the other hand, using wireless charging as electricity input is propriate because of keeping the form complete without extra cutting line.

result The interface layer view shows how to transfer the information to the user by those technology above. The outside one is glass coating which is like a transparent material with specific nano structure and cover this pen for protecting the mechanicla inside. Next one, these is the main body of interface mechanism by OLED and dot view filter which make this smooth surface can communicate.

Observing a school of stingrays swimming above the underwater tunnel at the aquarium was a memorable experience for me, and I was mesmerized by the rhythmic uniformity of their movements. If the image can be recreated in the city, urbanites rushed in the currents of time will certainly also be hypnotized by its beauty.

The 3D rendering shows the different faces on day time that there are beautifiul shadows on the ground. As the reason, LIGHTWAVE is not only the wellshaped atmosphere light but an artcraft with sunlight.

Lightwave uses the latest advancements in flexible solar panels to power the LED lights as well as the WIFI station, all of which are concealed within the two curved metallic enclosures recreating a marine life like visual in the overall design.

In the begining, I had to define the lighting area range because the LED bending concept is about “share”, the lighting area range is between Medium to large. Recording the reference of interior design it’s about 12 - 30 m2. From this spec setting, I started to calculate how much LEDs and light the scale of my design.

Because of the bending function, this material have to be flexible. furthermore, in order to control the bending form when it transforms, I decided to make pattern on the plate for combining with soft touch material. As the reason why I choose the pattern developed by fibonacci sequence then made some prototypes.

For modeling, I use metal wire to substitute electroactive polymer for maintaining the structure and bendable. After trying different hardness flexible materials, I choose Smooth-Cast 45 D, flexible plastic, for my model.

I use some tricks that transder 2D-like structure to form 3D structure. The gap of hard materials of LED light cases is very important because when it fold into the share mode those gaps provide buffer space to make this process smooth. Also I set the LED light temporature range is 3000-3500K for living area.

INTUITIVE FAUCET water saving faucet Generally, in the use of faucet, especially those with upward-moving lever, people get used to turn it on to the peak. Because of this habit, people not only waste a lot of water, but increase the economic burden to the residents. This product wisely benefit from the “Habit” and “Intuition” of users. During the turning-on process, water flow will decrease after passing the maximum amount so as to save water.

challenge Freshwater nowadays has become a precious commodity worldwide. Saving water for avoiding wastage and better utilization of water are becoming a universal concern. According to our observations, we are used to turn on the faucet to the peak amount, and with long time water wash. In this habit, the water consumption each time is 12 pounds or so. During this period, the actual usage of the water is only less than 20%, which means the remaining 80% of water is wasted. Usually, for convenience, users wouldn't adjust it again. On the other hand, the current water-saving devices do not control water when people wash hands, and sometimes cannot provide enough amount water as needed.

design solution There is a sliding block in the faucet body of "Intuitive Saving Faucet". The function of sliding block is used as seal assembly, which is attached to a sliding axis situated at the top of the faucet spout. This assembly is provided in order to control the flow rate of water. Every time we intuitively turn on the handle to peak, the flow rate will experience a downward parabola. That is to say, it will go through a low-high-low process, through it’s maximum to another lower point. This way we can save water easily. The amount of water is preset at the handle with concerns of user behavior. That is, a water-saving faucet provides means to predetermine the desired quantity of water in controlled and less water is wasted.

material & process The main material is Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, is the most widely used material for faucets due to its resistance to soft-water corrosion and hard-water calcification. It contains some alloying elements—like bismuth— to make it easier to process. Brass is received as bar stock of 0.13-2 in (0.335 cm) in diameter, depending on the size of faucet and we use chrome finish in this concept. This material is most resistant against corrosion. In the beginning, we use a machining process to shape the body into the required size and dimensions. This involves first cutting the bars into short slugs and automatically feeding them into a computerized numerically controlled machining center of multi-spindle and multi-axis design. Next, we use hot forging instead of machining. Forging is the process of shaping metals by deforming them in some way. In finishing process, the first a base coating of electroplated nickel is applied, followed by a thin coating of electroplated chromium. The chrome layer is deposited from a plating bath containing certain additives that improve corrosion resistance.

MATCH CANDLE match head candle
It is in awkward situation when a birthday cake is about to be presented to the birthday kid without fire to light up the candles. The concept Ladroo combines the functions of both match and candle. Ladroo is a green design as it is light with friction, thus reducing the need of buying matches or lighters.

We combined the production process of candles with matches that modified some steps to make it viable for mass production. As the safe matches, we separated the trigger chemical compounds into two parts. One is in the head of match candle and the other one is on the package. Besides, we use the wooden candle wick to make it solid enough for rubbing.

My partner and I have visited many hospitals for observing user’s behavior, how nurses or doctors use work with current medical cart. After discussing with them and analysis the observation, we found many problems in the operating process.

In biomedical lab, people works with pipette for thousand times per day. Changing pipette holding gesture is an essential issue to avoid Carpal tunnel syndrome.

TAPECARE Sport protection In general, to prevent injuries from different parts of our bodies, we have to buy different protectors to fit them, which results in movement difficulty. Though the elastic bandage enables us to move more freely, it lacks for the ability of protection. Now, Tapecare combines the techniques of STF and Gecko tape, producing the elastic bandage of protection, which fits all the different parts of the body.

Sport protection A shear thickening fluid, also called a dilatant, is a Non-Newtonian fluid where the shear viscosity increases with applied shear stress. This behavior is only one type of deviation from Newton’s Law, and it is controlled by such factors as particle size, shape, and distribution. The properties of these suspensions depend on Hamaker theory and Van der Waals forces and can be stabilized electrostatically or sterically. Shear thickening behavior occurs when a colloidal suspension transitions from a stable state to a state of flocculation. Such behavior is currently being researched for use in body armor applications by companies like Dow Corning with their Active Protection System. A large portion of the properties of these systems are due to the surface chemistry of particles in dispersion, known as colloids.

Gecko tape Geckos are renowned for their exceptional ability to stick and run on any vertical and inverted surface. However gecko toes are not sticky in the usual way like chemical adhesives. Instead, they can detach from the surface quickly and remain quite clean around everyday contaminants even without grooming. Following the discovery of the gecko’s adhesion mechanism in 2002, which is based on van der Waals forces, biomimetic adhesives have become the topic of a major research effort. These developments are poised to yield families of novel adhesive materials with superior properties which are likely to find uses in industries ranging from defense and nanotechnology to healthcare and sport.

That almost makes her do not have enough time to prepare her products; On the other hand,these same problems also happen on market booth lanlord. They are 60-70% over 40 years old and do not understand about how to promote their booth on line. Our team, PPAE, found this insight and want to solve this problem with new tools of internet generation.

The technical structure of PPAE is based on smart data base which seperate two memory sections. One is temporary data which is saved by SQL server, another one is complete data that is saved by HADOOP.

Scientist has resently discovered the premented life form has some rather sefiscated talents. it suprice the scientist with the remarkable ability to solve simple mazes. the scientist made a interest experiment. He place the food resources as a Tokyo rail station distribution and uses time-lapse to catch the network. The result of that which is matched the engineer design of the rail system. Furthermore, they do the same thing to other maps and the result is pretty amazing.

The growing type in flat plate inspires me that how they grows on three dimensional structure in artificial structure culture medium so I follow this concept to find the structure what I want it grow with. This folding origami structure I choose that is very potential to observe them growing on the peak and valley structure.

Continued on this concept, I tried to mold culture medium into these three dimensional structure. In this process, I failed a lot of times because the culture medium is a liquid-like material when it is hot after cooked. It is hard to fill in to my mold without any bubble. After made those 3D culture medium, I planted slime mould and made a timelapse video record.

Furthermore, I also curious about the place effect of food source of slime mould so I build a food source, oat flake, filter and make it place like dots with timelapse record. The result shows that slime mould finds the shortcut way to transport nutrient to the group with limit effort.

Positioning patients correctly is important for maintaining body alignment and preventing pressure ulcers. The study of Tom Defloor (2000) revealed that the 30° semi-Fowler position and the prone position resulted in the lowest interface pressures. In addition, the study suggested that the 90° side lying position gives the highest pressure readings and thus should be avoided. This research intended to bring Lateral Side-Lying Position into effect again by introducing leg cross strategy combining the use of assistive bolster. In the ‘improved Lateral Side-Lying Position’, both legs are in a flexed position in front of the patient, with the upper leg more (or less) flexed than the lower one. The assistive bolster is to be placed under upper leg.

The experiment employed 4 well-stated positions: supine, 30 degrees semi-Fowler position, lateral front top leg (top leg is more flexed than the lower one), lateral with rear top leg (upper leg is less flexed than the lower one) and recorded pressure data of bed surface over above 4 positions. The pressure distribution data indicated areas of overloaded pressure against the skin and underlying tissue.

(1) 30 degrees semi-Fowler position made patients spread the load on the bed and reduced the pressure concentrates upon contacting points. Comparing with supine position, there was no clear pressure point at shoulder and bottom bed contacting area. (2) Lateral position with top leg flexed or extended diminished the pressure between knees. Beside, it reduced the pressure concentrated situation in Trochanter major even in humerus. With top leg flexed or extended, lateral position spread pressure concentrated area and changed the negative appraisals. (3) Assistive pillows released the pressure concentrated areas and help to fit positions. (4) Body weight is a signie carefulficant factor of Pressure Ulcer but height is not. (5) The order of reposition arrangement should be carefully considered to aviod repeatedly stress the pressure concentrated areas.
