I’ve never been good at putting together a portfolio “the way it's supposed to be”.
The first time I showed my portfolio to someone I was told that I was “too commercial to be an art photographer and too artsy to be a commercial photographer” and that I should have to choose one or the other.
But I want the cake, I want to eat it too, and I want the recipe to make myself some more if I ever want to. Therefore, next to what I do because I have to, I create small slots of time and space to be what I want to be.
