ST PANCRAS STATION BUILDING STUDY HISTORY

London St Pancras railway station had it iconic Train Shed designed by William Barlow in 1863, but Sir George Gilbert, who won the competition for it, designed its faรงade two years later. In 1866 the construction of the Train Shed finally began, although the red brick faรงade started two years after, it took eight years to be finished. During the World War II, the station was hit by a German bomb and it was almost demolished on 60's. Luckily, on the 2000's it was fully renovated and expanded. The investment resulted on what we can see today and it is seen as the most beautiful station in the world. Today the London St Pancras is well known as the gateway to Europe for Britain, but still a great piece of Victorian Architecture and Marvel Engineering.
