Arquitecto, joven, con muchas ganas de aprender y seguir formándome. Desde que empecé la carrera he ido averiguando que lo que más me representa es la arquitectura del detalle, la que responde a todas las preguntas a través de una construcción inteligente; creo menos en el efecto y más en el perfecto. Lo que más me gusta es proyectar, diseñar y pensar mucho en soluciones creativas y me suelo apoyar en dualidades (de material, formas, usos...) para crear relaciones entre los elementos que definen el espacio. Me considero una persona muy trabajadora, dinámica y capaz de adaptarme a las exigencias de un estudio profesional. Aunque mi pasión arquitectónica es la vivienda, consciente de mi inexperiencia, mi motivación más grande es la de crecer profesionalmente en un estudio multidisciplinar y ver cómo fuciona y evoluciona el complejo mundo de la arquitectura. Tengo muchas ganas de demostrar lo que valgo pero, sobretodo, de aprender de los mejores.
Architect, young, willing to learn and to improve my professional development. Since I started my degree I have been finding out that what most represents me is the architecture of detail, which answers all questions through an intelligent construction; I believe less in the effect and more in the “perfect”. What I like the most is projecting, designing and thinking a lot about creative solutions and I usually rely on dualities (of material, shapes, uses ...) to create relationships between the elements that define the space. I consider myself a very hard-working, dynamic person capable of adapting to the demands of a professional studio. Although my architectural passion is housing, aware of my inexperience, my greatest motivation is to grow professionally in a multidisciplinary studio and see how the complex world of architecture works and evolves. I really want to show my worth but, above all, I want to learn from the best.

“ AQUARIUS ”

El encargo consistía en proyectar una residencia para los astrónomos del Real Observatorio de Madrid ubicado en el parque del Retiro. El proyecto se adapta a la fuerte pendiente del terreno a través de un módulo cuadrado en planta que se va repitiendo para formar y separar las estancias. Se replantea la forma de convivir y se propone un ámbito privado cerrado, de doble altura, destinado al descanso, higiene y estudio y un ámbito común ,a veces exterior, a veces interior, destinado a la nutrición, relación, ciruclación y organización de la residencia.
The commission consisted of designing a residence for the astronomers of the Madrid Royal Observatory located in the Retiro park. The project adapts to the steep slope of the land through a square module in plan that is repeated to form and separate the spaces. The way of living together is reconsidered and a closed, double-height private area is proposed, intended for rest, hygiene and study and a common area, sometimes exterior, sometimes interior, intended for nutrition, relationship, circulation and organization of the residence.

¿Cómo un modelo tan “simple” tiene tantas complicaciones? El ejercicio consiste en el estudio de una figura geométrica a través de su forma. Las diferentes composiciones (o descomposiciones) sirven para entender que hasta el objeto más elemental está lleno de detalles que lo hacen único. En este caso, se comprende el cubo a través de maquetas hechas en taller que materializan las cualidades físicas de distintos materiales (resistencia, grosor, color, etc.) en las partes que las constituyen (aristas, caras, centro, etc.) llevadas al extremo.
How does such a “simple” model have so many complications? The exercise consists of the study of a geometric figure through its shape. The different compositions (or decompositions) serve to understand that even the most elementary object is full of details that make it unique. In this case, the cube is understood through models made in a workshop that materialize the physical qualities of different materials (resistance, thickness, color, etc.) in their constituent parts (edges, faces, center, etc.) carried to the extreme.

La silla nace bajo la voluntad de aprender a curvar la madera. Las patas, que se ensamblan entre sí para aportar rigidez, son diseñadas a partir de un gesto que se adapta a la forma del cuerpo humano cuando se sienta. El resultado es una silla elegante, de color neutro, construida con madera de pino Insignis y barnizada para aguantar en el exterior que se concibe como un elemento capaz de estar en cualquier lugar de la casa.
The chair was born out of the desire to learn how to bend wood. The legs, which are assembled together to provide stiffness, are designed from a gesture that adapts to the shape of the human body when sitting. The result is an elegant chair, neutral colored, built in Insignis pine wood and fully varnished in order to withstand outside and that is conceived as a piece capable of being anywhere in the house.

“Análisis de las segundas residencias para la definición de la domesticidad contemporánea”: este trabajo consiste en una pequeña aproximación a la domesticidad, un tema que va más allá de la arquitectura y fluctúa con campos como la sociología, las finanzas o la filosofía. A través del estudio de las viviendas de vacaciones se pretenden encontrar una serie de identificadores de un modelo de vida más sotenible y de mejor calidad para el entorno urbano contemporáneo. Se formulan hipótesis sobre los individuos: las formas de vivir y de moverse o el acercamiento y aprovechamiento de la naturaleza; y sobre los espacios que viven: el cuestionamiento de la cocina, las habitaciones sin límites, el hermetismo estacional de la vivienda o el pensamiento para el almacenamiento.
“Second homes analysis for the definition of contemporary domesticity”: this work is a small approach to domesticity, a topic that goes beyond architecture and fluctuates with fields such as sociology, finance or philosophy. Through the study of holiday dwellings, the aim is to find a series of identifiers of a more sustainable and better quality life model for the contemporary urban environment. Some hypotheses are formulated about individuals: the ways of living and moving or the approach and use of nature; and about the spaces that they live: the questioning of the kitchen, the rooms without limits, the seasonal enclosure of the house or the thoughts for storage.

“Centro de explotación vegetal”: el estuario del Tajo es un lugar muy complejo compuesto por múltiples tramas que definen la zona y es, a su vez, la separación física y simbólica entre la ciudad y el campo. Una de estas tramas la forman las salinas que, abandonadas desde hace tiempo, han dejado una huella imborrable en el paisaje. Aprovechándose de la tradición florícola y pesquera, y de los ciclos temporales que las conectan, se quiere volver a poner en funcionamiento la zona de forma sostenible hasta convertirla, de nuevo, en un espacio productivo. La apuesta reciente por el cannabis hace que esta sea la especie elegida para explotar el sitio convirtiendo al proyecto en un lugar de confluencia de novedosas investigaciones y tradición agrícola. El objetivo es incorporar una nueva trama más al estuario a través de un sistema modulable y capaz de colonizar el paisaje adaptándose a un ecosistema en continuo cambio.
“Plant exploitation center”: the Tagus estuary is a very complex place made up of multiple patterns that define the area and is, in turn, the physical and symbolic separation between the city and the countryside. One of these patterns is formed by the salt mines that, abandoned for a long time, have left an indelible mark on the landscape. Taking advantage of the floricultural and fishing tradition, and the temporary cycles that connect them, the aim is to put the area back into operation in a sustainable way until it becomes, once again, a productive space. The recent commitment to cannabis makes this the species chosen to exploit the site, making the project a place of confluence of innovative research and agricultural tradition. The objective is to incorporate yet another new plot to the estuary through a modular system capable of colonizing the landscape, adapting to an ecosystem in continuous change.

Trabajo como arquitecto en el desarrollo de anteproyectos, proyectos básicos y proyectos de ejecución de, sobre todo, edificios de vivienda plurifamiliar en el estudio Casqueiro Arquitectos. Además, el estudio participa de forma activa junto a Raum 41-41 en concursos nacionales de vivienda. Las funciones principales abarcan desde la realización de dibujos arquitectónicos como las plantas, alzados o secciones que requieren los anteproyectos y proyectos básicos, hasta la elaboración de detalles constructivos, planos de acabados o memorias de carpinterías necesarios para el desarrollo de un proyecto de ejecución, así como de esquemas, volumetrías o fotomontajes que facilitan la comprensión de las láminas de un proyecto propuesto para concurso.
I work as an architect in the development of preliminary projects, basic projects and execution projects of, mainly, multi-family housing buildings in the Casqueiro Arquitectos firm. Furthermore, the firm actively participates, in association with Raum 41-41, in national housing competitions. The main duties varies from the realization of architectural drawings such as plans, elevations or sections required by the blueprints and basic projects, to the preparation of construction details, finishing plans or carpentry reports necessary for the development of an execution project, as well as diagrams, volumetric drawings or renders that facilitate the understanding of an architectural competition project sheets.
