Editor’s Word
Iam a founder member and as Building Chairman I lead the team of members who voluntarily spent over three years converting a vandalised grade 2 listed building into our synagogue. I have also served as Chairman, President, Chair of the Functions and Fund Raising, and Editor. After creating and archiving fifty years of Hakol into numerous binders I found myself nominated as Archivist. I also served as Treasurer & Vice Chairmen of the ULPS (now Liberal Judaism) for ten years. My wife, Sheila, served as Membership Secretary, Synagogue Secretary, Chairman and President for the synagogue during the shul’s first thirty years. As one of the newly elected trustees who are committed to revitalise TLSE, I offered to take on the editorship of Hakol after more than a year’s gap. I previously edited Hakol for several years in the 1990s and thoroughly enjoyed the task. Consequently, I am pleased to announce the resumption of Hakol as a bi-monthly magazine. Whilst the weekly email will continue to highlight imminent services and activities Hakol will be able to provide;• A vehicle for members to express their views and suggestions • Reports & photos of recent activities & events • Provide updates from trustees meetings • Profiles of members and trustees • Highlights from Hakol Archives • Anglo Jewish history • Famous Jews both past & present • Jewish trivia and jokes • Youth & KT news • From the Rabbi • From the Chair • Care Team News • Education Hub • Who Does What at TLSE • Articles from members that may inspire, amuse or provoke discussion. • Etcetera
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that details printed in Hakol are correct no responsibility can be accepted for information misprinted or incorrectly given to the editor. Please let the Editor know of any errors or corrections. The Editor reserves the right to edit material submitted for publication.
