Opinion
Greetings fellow students who have taken the time to even glance at my article. And if you just decided that you have something better to do, well you are probably right. Guess what? 500 puppies just drowned in a pond!!! Have I caught your attention? Obviously, I have because you are still reading. Now riddle me this why are you still reading? Boredom or interest? Depression or enjoyment? Anger at your loved one or wondering what in the world is wrong with Rebecca Black? Or maybe because I just bolded the death of 500 puppies in a made-up story. I bet your thinking, “Wow what a clever, astounding, amazing jerk!” Well, welcome to my life. I apologize if previous events involving make-believe puppies and a make-believe pond tragedy offended you in anyway. The last thing I wanted to do was to make you angry with yours truly for writing such a terrible (made up) event. But you do not have to hate on me. Sorry I’ve always wanted to be the subject of haters and pretend that I hate on haters. Oh, and of course have a catchy slogan like “Haters be learners bra!” (Thanks to Epic Meal Time). But in my defense you are still reading so I have obviously caught your attention. Or you’re not reading this in which case these past few sentences have been a waste of time. But you are reading this because you know what I am talking about right now. Or you don’t know about this because your off picking your nose. Now to some, I might just be rambling on and on about why or why you are not reading this. But riddle me this? Can you say a selfish shellfish like yourself? So what’s my so what, basically if you want to get someone’s attention surprise them, knock them off their socks (yes I said that). That or flat out…BACON STRIPS.

Most Addicting Game
I wondered what the most addicting game of all time might be: It could of been a video game, card game, sport, etc. To find out, I asked random Brunswick students and teachers what they thought. After lots of votes and lots of games were elected, four games were nominated to go to the finals to see which one was the most addicting. The four top games are Tetris, Fruit Ninja, Tiny Wings, and Minecraft. Tetris is a classic game where shaped bricks fall from the top of the screen and you have to try to fit them together to make rows and not stack them all the way up to the top of the screen. Once you complete an entire row, it disappears. Fruit Ninja is a game for smart phones where fruits shoot up from the bottom of the screen and you have to cut them before they hit the ground. In Tiny Wings, you are a bird that can’t fly because it has tiny wings. To fly, you make yourself heavyweight and lightweight to fly off jumps and “escape night’s clutches”. Minecraft is a computer game where you mine and craft things to survive attacks against monsters. While Tetris can be addicting, the game seems to get too repetitive and boring after a while, because the same shapes fall, you try to fit them the same way every time. Tiny Wings has the same problem but trying to get to a higher stage and beat your high score makes it slightly better and you will probably play it more. Fruit Ninja is really addicting, especially because they keep adding new game modes, such as two player mode. Minecraft is especially addicting, because you can keep doing other stuff, like digging deeper for diamonds, building things you never could in real life, and the countless updates the server gives you will keep you playing all the time. Every game has its own individual flare that makes it addicting, and all of them are fun, but with the most votes out of every game, Minecraft has to be the most addicting. - Will Nash

T O P 2 0 NBA PL AY E R S Top 20 NBA Players! 20: Chris Bosh; The only reason Bosh isn’t ranked in the top 15 is, well, look at his teammates: Lebron and DWade they are both in my top 10. They might make him better, but he doesn’t get the ball as much. 19: Paul Pierce; Paul Pierce is getting of that age now where he still is good but he is a few years ahead of his Prime (his prime was when his team was very bad). Paul Pierce is going to have one of his worst seasons, but he is still an elite player. 18: Manu Ginobili; Manu even though he is getting older, he still has a snipe from deep. Plus he is a rare combination of ball control and shot control. I still like Manu. 17: Kevin Love; Many think Love is not a 17 but an even worse rank. Kevin Love was close to beating the most consecutive games with a double-double. Also love won the 2010-2011 most improved award,
which means he is only getting better. 16: Rajon Rondo; Rondo is sometimes the smallest but gets the most rebounds. Rondo in the first five games of the season last year got 17 assists, 24 assists (tripledouble), 17 assists, and finally a pour performance 15 assists (tripledouble). That was the most ever by one player in the first four games. 15: Deron Williams: Most people think he is better that this, but I don’t see him being a top 12 player playing in New Jersey with the great Kris Humphries. He is an all-star, which is why I’m giving him the first top 15 spot. 14: Zach Randolph (Z-bo); Z-bo has the rebounding skills of a Dwight Howard and the big man shooting skill of a Chris Bosh. In the 5 of the past 6 seasons he has had averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds. Those are elite numbers. 13: Pau Gasol; Without Kobe Bryant Pau
wouldn’t be in the believe the he and top twenty but he his teammate Durant can be two has of the best players teammates like come 2 years. Kobe, Fisher and Odom to help him 9: Dallas Mavericks, Dirk every day. The 12: Blake Griffin; Many might think only thingseparating Dirk his is better than from Russell and this but he need time. He needs to Paul and Deron is that he mature and work has the ring and on his defensive game; by 2014 he the champions done for. I believe that without the before he goes higher on “dream team” my list. He need to Wade could drop very close to 30 a make better decisions with the game. ball and needs to 7: New York Knicks, Carmelo improve his three Anthony; Anthony point shot. He is explosive and has is getting his game back on track the best pull-up from the foul line. I now playing in the garden. I think that
the fans are going to inspire him to be a great franchise player. 6: New York Knicks, Amare Soudimire; Amare is a great defender with and talent at offense too. He has the ability to block a shot and the ability to shoot. He is a very valuable player to the Knicks and he will be for a ling time. 5: Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant; People were criticizing him and his team for the poor performance against the Mavericks in the playoffs. Kobe has put great numbers over the year and many rings. Even though he is older now he still is top ten of alltime. 4: Chicago Bulls, Derek Rose; The 2010-2011 MVP is not even at his prime yet. He has the ability to shoot, pass, drive, dribble and everything you need in a player. He has the shoot ability of a shooting guard, and the awareness of a hawk. He is the all-around player.
3: OKC Thunder, Kevin Durant; Durant is the youngest player ever to have the most points in an NBA season. He has done it twice. He is still only 23 years old, he has at least 15 more years until he is going to be bad. In two years Kevin Durant will be number 1. 2: Orlando Magic, Dwight Howard; Dwight Howard is very very large. He is one of the best defenders of this century and one of the best rebounders. By the way if he gets the ball in the paint don’t even try to stop him. 1: Miami Heat, Lebron James; Many people hate Lebron (One of those is me) but I have to admit he has talent. The only thing holding him back from being the best ever is he doesn’t have the two handed rings. like Kobe and Jordan, but he still is on the same level of talent. - Shane Simmons

Other Cool Stuff Other notable alumni- Peter Coroon (current mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah), Hayward Alker, Neil Burger, Pete Francis Heimbold, and Justin Henry - DAN FORESTER ’17 Review of Doctor Who Doctor Who is the most popular, longest-running sci-fi television show in the history of TV. It started in 1963, and has been airing ever since, except for a gap between 1981 and 1996. The plot is fairly complex, but has evolved over time. Let me start from the beginning. Doctor Who is based upon the last of a surviving alien race, which were known as "Time Lords". This last Time Lord was named the Doctor. How did all the other Time Lords die? Their home planet of Gallifrey was locked down during the Last Great Time War, which was the Time Lords versus their arch-enemies, the Daleks. The Doctor hadn't been at home at the time, so he was saved from lock-down. The Time Lords travelled in blue, telephone boxes called TARDISes, which were time machines, and bigger on the inside than out. The Doctor was traveling in his Type 40 TARDIS at the time, and was saved. Of course, he made it to Earth, and to this day has been defending it from alien attacks, invasions, and revolutions ever since. Another key fact about Time Lords is that they can "regenerate", which basically means that they can live for thousands of years. When a Time Lord, say the Doctor, is about to die, either from injuries or natural causes, he will regenerate. A regenerated Time Lord will think differently, act differently, and look different than the previous. That is how the Doctor has managed to stay alive for 48 years (each Doctor is a different actor). The current Doctor, played by Matt Smith, is the 11th reincarnation of the Doctor. Traveling time can be extremely boring alone, so the Doctor always has companions, most of which who are human. The 11th Doctor's current companions are Amelia Pond (Karen Gillan), Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), and the very slightly insane Dr. River Song (Alex Kingston). There are many twists and turns, deaths and births, and many,
MANY adventures. This is why I give Doctor Who a ten out of ten. RK By the way, this show is recommended for nerds. - Ridgley Knapp Fred Jackson- Running Back
Who is Fred Jackson? Well, he is the current running back for the Buffalo Bills and a former indoor football league football player. As of September 26, 2011, Fred Jackson has run for 303 yards and has been a hot fantasy pickup. Where did Jackson come from? He went to Coe College. Where even is Coe College? It’s a Division III college in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After college, he went to the National Indoor Football League where he made a mere $200 a week. His jersey number was retired! After the stint in the indoor league, he was invited to the Bills training camp. His first start brought him four catches and 82 rushing yards. He became the first D III running back to start a game in nearly a decade. This just shows you that anybody can be great in the NFL. So far this year, he has helped the Bills to a astounding 3-0 record. He is a player to watch as the season progresses. - Jack Kulesh Arch West: Dorito Visionary Arch West died recently in Dallas, Texas. Arch West was one of the greatest inventors in the history of food. He invented Doritos. You may think, “how such an amazing man died”. Well, he was 97 years old and had lived an amazing life. He discovered Doritos in 1966 on a family vacation. With such an amazing invention, what better to do at your funeral than sprinkle your grave with Doritos? Yes, he included this in his will. I know, this sounds incredibly weird. But if I invented the most influential snack food in the history of Frito Lay I would bury myself in chips, too. So say a silent goodbye to the great Arch West and his Doritos masterpiece.
