clients that they will be paired with weekly to check in on them. The volunteer will report back to the case management team if needed.
Why:
BSRI is working toward creating more virtual volunteer opportunities. Connection is everything! So we want to create a program where we connect lives! Phone pals is the perfect way to do this. Doing a phone call reassurance program lead by volunteers enables us to check on our clients more often. It also helps prevent loneliness, fraud, abuse, etc. among our homebound seniors. We are asking members of the community to step up and help us with this initiative. Currently we have 50 or so people on our list of people who need a friendly call each week, but we have only three volunteers. We must have more to be able to bring this important project to scale! We invite you to look within yourself: Are you are connected to life, to people, to your community? If the answer is no, consider this opportunity, to serve others, but ultimately serve yourself and your connection to purpose!
When:
This volunteer opportunity is super flexible. Volunteers can call their clients from their home on their cell. Volunteers can choose what day of the week they call their clients, as long as they are making a point of contact each week.
