Top Five Philadelphia Neighborhoods to Invest In Prepared by Bryan Ziegenfuse

Introduction

Philadelphia is known for its distinctive neighborhoods and rich history. Many of these neighborhoods are experiencing a rebirth with new homes and businesses. Those surrounding Center City are ideal for a real estate opportunity or a family looking to settle down. They have also been the backdrop for many movies (e.g. Rocky). Here are the top five Philadelphia neighborhoods to invest in.

Washington Square West Among the city's best neighborhoods, it is seen by locals as being three neighborhoods located in one amazing place to live. The illustrious history of the area makes it diverse and exciting for many people. Aside from boasting trendy boutiques and restaurants, it is also the home of the Pennsylvania Ballet.

Queen Village It is another neighborhood locals love. Though it has a population of older residents, younger people are becoming increasingly attracted to the neighborhood for its energetic vibe. At the same time, it appeals to those seeking to live a low key life. This neighborhood is also steeped in history. It is an extremely family-oriented place to live and provides its residents with peace and quiet, and stability.

Fishtown/ Northern Liberties They are two parallel neighborhoods that attract younger residents. Seen as an “up and comer, Fishtown is a hotbed for galleries, breweries, music venues, and other cultural gathering places. The neighborhood appeals to those who enjoy music, artistry and culinary pursuits. It combines the excitement of big city life without having to live in an urbanized neighborhood. Northern Liberties is similar in its culture. Though it was previously a manufacturing district in recent years, it has transformed into a place where artists can live and work in a supportive environment.

University City A highly populated neighborhood in Western Philadelphia, its name comes from the fact that it is the home of both Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania. Its intellectual residents enjoy the neighborhood's art galleries and its culinary scene, which includes celebrity restaurants and a thriving food truck area.

Rittenhouse Square The neighborhood boasts noted museums, amazing churches, historical housing, upscale stores and boutiques and more. During the spring and summer months, Rittenhouse Square features outdoor dining establishments that are considered to be some of the best in Philadelphia. Rittenhouse will soon be home to one of the most luxurious condominium buildings in the city with “The Laurel breaking ground.
