my capstone work began in the summer of 2019 by exploring the human consciousness within an intimate bodily relationship to space and other objects. I studied this through flexible tactile prosthetics that connected me to the space and allowed me to broaden my perspective in the experience to both subject and object. these pieces led me to believe that my objects actually define me as much I define them and how crucial this relationship is to understanding our own identities. I’ve now applied these theories to the single-person residence in order to work with the domestic rituals of identity already existing within that space. through my interventions, I hope to have opened up the conversation of what a home could look like for a person who seeks a better understanding of their existence within their own bedroom and beyond. please see the next page for a link to the film composing both my concept and design.
