THE BRITISH SCHOOL AL KHUBAIRAT
Co-Curricular & Enrichment Opportunities
PRIMARY TERM 2 (2023/24) TOP SCHOOL AWARDS 2022 Best School in the UAE for Fine Art and Creative Studio Work
TOP SCHOOL AWARDS 2022 Best School for Post-16 Education in the UAE
CO-CURRICULAR AND ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES (CCEs) AT BSAK At BSAK, our world class curriculum is delivered alongside an array of engaging co-curricular and enrichment opportunities, which complement each other in providing students with opportunities to explore new interests, deepen thinking and develop their talents. Our Co-Curricular and Enrichment programme has been carefully designed to promote intellectual challenge, broaden and deepen experiences, knowledge, understanding and skills outside of the core curriculum and class provision for all of our students. BSAK’s Primary CCE programme offers the students, from Years 3 to 6, over 60 additional learning opportunities outside of the core curriculum and the wide range of co-curricular activities provided by our UAE, Music and PE departments. We are extremely proud of this exceptional and unique extended provision, which is carefully designed to deliver the very best opportunities for all students in Years 3-6. Sixth Form students will support the delivery of clubs where possible to add to the experience, drawing on the skills and enthusiasm of our older students. They are fantastic role models for the Primary students. It has to be acknowledged though, that even with such a diverse range of opportunities, it is impossible to provide every student with each one of their initial choices. We do try our very best and do not run a first come, first served booking system, instead we assign students to clubs randomly from the application lists. We then manage the lists of students who are not selected to try and provide them with the opportunity of their choice in the following Term. Information regarding how to sign up and the timeline involved, including at what stage of the application process you will know if your child has been successful in obtaining a place in the CCE, will be shared with you via the Parent Portal. You will know before the the end of term if your child has been selected for any instrumental groups, sports sessions or if they have been invited to any enrichment opportunities appropriate for them. Hence, you will know in advance which days your child will not be able to access other clubs. If involved in a selected sports squad, the children will not be able to select other clubs on game days between 2.45pm and 5pm. There will be a set number of spaces in most enrichment activities for children to sign up to if they are interested. Please note, whilst there may be the opportunity for some movement between CCEs in the first two weeks of delivery, after that the children will need to remain in the CCEs they have been assigned to. If you have any questions regarding the CCE programme or require any support, please contact our Parent Relations Administrator Mrs Christine Small at csmall@britishschool.sch.ae We look forward to another term of high quality CCEs.
MONDAY Monday clubs are limited as staff are involved in ongoing Professional Development after school. The majority of CCEs are delivered by our own staff, ensuring the required high quality of provision. EARLY MORNING:
