THE ROLE: The British School of Guangzhou is looking for highly qualified and experienced music specialist to lead the strategic development of our music department from August 2015. The British School of Guangzhou has an enviable reputation for promoting a love of music amongst our students. Reporting to the Heads of Phase and Principal, you will oversee a department of four specialist teachers, one teaching assistant, a team of peripatetic instrumental teachers and a sound technician. The successful candidate will be someone with the ambition to establish the British School of choice for musicians in Guangzhou. THE PERSON: Will have A good BMus Hons or equivalent with QTS/PGCE, an ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall performance diploma, and at least 5 years experience teaching music in the UK or in a reputable British Curriculum International School. Will be an excellent communicator, who gets on well with colleagues, students, parents, technology and change. Amongst other things, you will be an outstanding musician with experience of instrumental or choral conducting; well organised; have a good sense of humour and a desire to develop musical opportunities for students both in and out of the classroom.
