THE ROLE: As a result of unprecedented growth the British School of Guangzhou is looking for highly qualified and experienced Early Years specialists to join our dedicated team from August 2015. The British School of Guangzhou has an enviable reputation for delivering a vibrant high quality academic education and has become the preferred choice of expatriate families in Guangzhou. Reporting to a Year Leader and Head of Early Years, the successful applicant will have a thorough knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. In particular, we welcome applications from teachers proficient in the integration of technology and specifically iPads into the day-to-day curriculum and with experience of working with students who speak English as a second language. THE PERSON: Will need to hold a good Bachelor’s degree with QTS/PGCE, and at least 2 years experience teaching in a UK school or in a reputable British Curriculum International School. Will be an excellent communicator, who gets on well with colleagues, students, parents, technology and change. Amongst other things, you will be well organised; have a good sense of humour and a desire to develop opportunities for students both in and out of the classroom. Monitoring and intervening to ensure student progress is in line with the school’s high expectations. Ensuring that teaching and learning within your class encourages engagement and enquiry. Ensuring that tracking, monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting support student learning. Refining and developing the delivery of the EYFS to enhance student learning. Contributing to the wider school community by supporting major school events. Contributing to the enhanced curriculum through after school and extra curricular activities.
