Welcome!
Join us on our theatrical journey with Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. You can find the programme for today’s show below. The essence of good theatre is telling good stories and KS2 are ready to bring you a story that you will love. Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR is fun and exciting for both adults and children and for many is instantly recognisable with its larger-than-life cast of animals and memorable settings spanning 3 continents! It’s certainly been a production that we have enjoyed putting together and we cannot wait for you to experience it. This year’s cast retains a fair few members of last year’s production of Annie JR and we are delighted to have their talent and experience back on stage. However, we are equally delighted to welcome so many new faces to the cast, children inspired by those they saw last year, or new faces to the school who have been keen to leave their mark on the boards of BSG musical theatre. Of course, children don’t just spontaneously create a musical production and there are dozens of adults in our BSG community who deserve my sincerest thanks. No request was too big, no tiny change too small for them to pluck a vision from inside my head and create it a thousand times better in reality. The number of hours that the crew have put in over the past six months is truly staggering; they are heroes one and all. When all aspects of this production are considered, close to 200 of the children in KS2 will have contributed in some way to the performance you will witness today. That’s an astonishing number of young people looking to tell a story! Their hard work, enthusiasm and good nature have helped to create something special and they truly are a testament to the wonderful students that we get to work with every day. What you will see tonight is an all-singing, all-dancing tribute to the power of community and I know that you will be blown away. Enjoy! David Healey (Director)

Thank You
Putting together a show like this can’t happen without the tireless effort of our students. Rehearsals started way back in January and it has been remarkable the commitment all students involved have shown in bringing this final show to you today. A huge well done to every member of cast, singer in the choir and talented dancer. You have created a truly spectacular show of which you should be very proud. It is also important to publicly recognise and thank the many adults who have been involved in bringing this show together. It is always remarkable what can be achieved and you have all been brilliant at working hard behind the scenes to ensure your areas of expertise were of an excellent standard.
