specifically: our governing body needs you!
Currently, the governing body is made up of a group of people with a wide range of backgrounds. We have teachers, a fireman, grandmothers, grandfathers, a hairdresser, IT workers, a leisure centre manager, a managing director and of course: a lowly headmaster! This is a fairly broad group but we’d like to extend the variety of backgrounds represented.

Beach Trip
School Nurse Drop-In
You should have received a letter regarding the annual trip to the beach, taking part this year on Tuesday 19th July. Can we please ask, that if you have not already done so, you return the permission slip and contributions to us by Thursday 7th July.
The next School Nurse drop in is on Thursday 14th July at 8.45am. Please let the office or one of the class teachers know if you would like to make an appointment to see Sarah. You can also just pop in on the day.
Sports Day As per the letter sent out last week, Sports day this year is on Friday 1st July and will take the same format as last year. For those for whom this is their first year, the day is normally split up into reception, year 1 & 2 taking part in various sporting activities from 10-11.30 and then running races taking us up to lunch time. Yrs 3,4,5 & 6 then begin their various events from 12.40. Each of the children will be representing their house and as such are asked to wear the allotted colour t-shirt for their house. The reception children, who are not already in a designated house, will be allocated one by Mrs Flavell before the event ,to allow you to dress them appropriately, where possible.
WELCOME! Please stop and say hello to Mrs Houlston who will be our deputy headteacher until Mrs Harris returns ‘post-maternity leave’! Lauren joins us on secondment from Merley First School which is part of the Poole local authority. She is an experienced and well-respected teacher in her home authority and we are certainly very excited to have her talents with us, albeit temporarily. So, if you get a chance, give her a smile and a wave and try not hold the fact that she is a Chelsea fan against her (although Mr Lavis is struggling with that at the moment.)
