Our curriculum The Hague
The Hague: a modern, international city, beside the sea
We encourage curiosity in our children, and from the youngest age help develop a love of learning that will last them a lifetime. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum for England & Wales but has been expertly adapted to meet the unique needs of our international student body. We are non-selective and our aim is for all of our students to receive quality teaching and learning. To accomplish this our Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Additional Education Needs (AEN) staff and our Teaching staff work together to provide excellent provisions for those students who require additional support.
The BSN is non-selective and we pride ourselves on setting high standards for all of our students. Our recent exam results speak for themselves Internationally British

Learning opportunities
There are around 500 colleagues across our four schools. At each of our schools the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher oversee the management of the school, supported by our Senior Leadership teams.
We recognise that our greatest resource is our staff and we are committed to supporting your professional learning. The newly commissioned International Leadership Academy and BlueSky Education are a demonstration of commitment to your professional development.
Our strong team of AEN and EAL staff work closely with students requiring additional support and provide regular feedback to our AEN co-ordinators and Teachers. Across our Junior Schools we also have specialist staff for Dutch, PE and Music, plus a team of Teaching Assistants who support the Class Teachers and students in lessons.
At the BSN you can expect to be working with motivated pupils and talented professionals, who are passionate about children and learning.
Your responsibilities
Life at the BSN
Being an LSA at the BSN means supporting a student throughout the school day, across a range of activities, in order for them to gain full access to the curriculum. This may be through a combination of in class support and withdrawal from lessons.
Our schools are lively, warm and welcoming. All are housed in attractive buildings and some of our facilities include stimulating playgrounds, all weather pitches, school libraries and music and art studios. We make excellent use of our schools’ open spaces for creative and collaborative learning.
Our LSAs make an assessment of student needs, to plan medium and short-term targets, modifying materials as necessary. Recording and reporting on the progress of the student includes attending and contributing to relevant meetings with Teachers and AEN staff, and communicating feedback to parents. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong planning and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential for anyone looking to take on this role.

At the BSN we focus on developing the whole child, finding out what stimulates them and inspires them to push themselves to achieve more. Through a combination of day to day school activities and our wide ranging cocurricular programme, we have created an environment where every invididual can thrive. The school year is spilt into three terms. Fulltime LSAs are required to work 190 days per school year, 181 of which are teaching days. The remaining days are reserved for carrying out administration, training and professional learning (pro-rata for part-time LSAs).
We constantly strive to innovate and explore different ways to improve the learning experiences of our students
