Training courses


Our courses The BSN Language Centre has been providing language training to adults for over 20 years. We focus on two languages, English and Dutch, to ensure expert training and quality for our learners. We are one of only three centres in the Benelux with University of Cambridge CELTA Teacher Training Accreditation.

Course highlights  The CELTA training runs for 16/18weeks all day Friday  The maximum class size is 12 candidates.  We offer you a modern teaching facility to both learn and practise your teaching.  Free Wi-Fi is available to you.

Who is it suitable for? Students who follow a CELTA course at The BSN Language Centre come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and experience. Although the CELTA programme is intended as an initial qualification for people with little or no previous teaching experience, many of the CELTA trainees at The BSN Language Centre are experienced teachers eager to upgrade their skills and scope.

 There is free parking right outside the door.  We organise a lunch delivery service for you.

What is CELTA? CELTA stands for the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. It is an internationally recognised qualification for English Language teaching to adults.

What will it offer me? Following a CELTA course will provide you with a professional qualification (CELTA certificate) which is recognised across the world. It provides you with highly mobile and transferable teaching skills which can be invaluable to internationally mobile individuals. Following this course will further your language and teaching knowledge and offer new and exciting challenges in the world of adult education. Many CELTA students have found that the certificate has provided them with the confidence and professional support they needed to further develop their skills or embark on a new career.


Our courses Cambridge Accreditation

Input sessions

The course programme, staffing and facilities at The BSN Language Centre are approved and recognised by Cambridge ESOL Teaching Awards.

After having completed your teaching practice in the mornings, afternoons are dedicated to input. These sessions will include the following topics:  Classroom management

Course overview Continuous assessment

 Teaching new language  Error correction techniques  Teaching in different environments

You will be assessed throughout the course, with no final examination. An external assessor, appointed by Cambridge ESOL, moderates each course There are two components of assessment.

 Language analysis

Teaching practice

Lesson observation

You will teach for a total of six hours, working with classes at two different levels of ability. Assessment is based on your overall performance at the end of the six hours.

Written assignments You will complete four written assignments covering the following topics: adult learning, language system of English, language skills and classroom teaching.

 Using songs, video and technology in the classroom  Phonology
