Course overview At the BSN Language Centre we have a great passion for giving our students the skills they need to go out and express themselves in the language they’ve learnt. Learning a language is so much more than sitting at a desk and listening to a teacher; we think it’s about interaction, communication and above all enjoying the great pleasure and rewards of learning a new language at whatever level. Our qualified teachers will make you feel at ease and encourage you to develop your language skills within a professional setting. Our modern building and teaching facilities ensure excellent conditions and provide the ideal setting for you to achieve your language learning objectives.

Levels To best meet your language learning needs, your level will be determined in a relaxed yet professional manner. We invite you to visit us at The BSN Language Centre where your language skills will be assessed by an experienced teacher. You are welcome to take advantage of one of our Open Days scheduled throughout the year. We will look at both your oral and written skills to advise you on which course will be the most suitable for you. Once your level has been confirmed, you can choose a suitable course by checking the course listing available on our website or discuss your selection with one of the professional staff.
Our courses General English courses Beginner to Advanced Plus General English language courses focus on all aspects of your language development. You will improve your listening, speaking, writing and reading skills and extend your knowledge of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Through an array of interesting topics and learning materials, you will develop your language skills to meet your personal goals and increase your confidence when using English. A general language course offers you the ideal opportunity to improve your language abilities in a professional learning environment. We offer general courses at 13 different levels from beginner (A1) to advanced (C2). The grammar and vocabulary you learn in your course will help you better communicate and give you the tools you need to progress. This type of course is ideal if you are looking to improve your all-round English skills. You will follow a text book with added teaching materials chosen to best meet your language learning needs. Lessons generally last 2.5 hours with a short break in the middle to give you a chance to get a coffee and chat with your classmates using your newly acquired language skills in our free Wi-Fi Lounge. To ensure maximum progress, it is recommended you do the assigned homework each week to review and consolidate the material covered in class.
Conversation courses Pre-intermediate to Advanced Conversation courses focus primarily on oral communication, enabling you to focus on both your fluency and accuracy. You will improve your listening and speaking skills in a relaxed atmosphere which will challenge your knowledge and give you the confidence you need to express yourself in English. Although the emphasis is clearly on speaking, some vocabulary
and grammar may be covered to enable you to improve your oral language skills. A text book will provide the basis of your course however the topics covered will vary according to the interests of the participants in the group. Through the use of newspapers, magazines and news broadcasts, you will cover a variety of topics such as culture, travel and current events. Conversation courses begin at pre-intermediate level and continue up to advanced level. Generally, lessons last 2.5 hours with a short break in our free Wi-Fi Lounge, giving you the opportunity to use your newly acquired skills with your classmates. Some homework may be assigned.
Intensive courses Offered at different levels Our Intensive courses are normally held in the Summer. Each session runs every morning for two consecutive weeks. The courses cover grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and all four language skills; speaking, listening, reading and writing. Following language instruction in a concentrated period gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the language and gain confidence and ease with English in a very short period of time. Another possibility for intensive study is to take two or three courses at the same time. Discounts are offered on the second and third courses. Intensive courses are ideal if you have not studied English for some time and feel your language skills have become a bit rusty. A 2-week intensive course offers you an excellent review of grammar and vocabulary and will give you the chance to practise your English in a comfortable and professional setting. If you have been following English courses or use the language on a regular basis, an intensive course will help you consolidate your knowledge and give you the incentive you need to continue to progress.
Our courses continued Business language courses We offer business language courses here on site from the intermediate to advanced levels. These courses cover general language skills with the focus on business vocabulary and business topics. Our business courses take place in the evenings. Our business language courses generally meet once a week . The course focuses on communication to best help you succeed when working together with colleagues and clients.
Cambridge exam preparation classes The BSN Language Centre is an authorised Centre for ESOL exams. Cambridge English exams are offered at different levels and are recognised throughout the world. The exams use materials and situations from everyday life and cover the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. At The BSN Language Centre, we offer exam preparation classes which focus on the skills you need to pass a Cambridge ESOL exam. It is recommended that your English be at the appropriate level to follow one of our exam preparation courses. You will be given a special test to determine your level and assess your chances of passing the exam. We offer courses to prepare you for the following Cambridge exams. FCE (First Certificate in English) is an exam for people who need to prove they can use every day written and spoken English at an upper-intermediate (B2) level for work or study purposes.

CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) (C1) is an advanced qualification in English for demanding academic and professional situations. CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) (C2) is the most advanced exam for learners who have achieved an extremely high level of skill in the English language. The various parts of the exam will be covered in the class so you know what to expect and how to go about taking the exam to get the best results possible.
Enrolment You can enrol and have your level tested during one of our Open Registration Days. The dates and times can be found on the website under the section ‘registration’. Once you have been assessed and decided on a course you can enrol there and then. Your place will be secured for you as soon as payment has been received.
Cost and payment As a first time student at The BSN Language Centre, payment is required to reserve your place on the course of your choice. To avoid disappointment, we recommend you pay directly upon registering. Courses can be paid for with your bank card.
