Interested in a leadership (RL or BEARS) position in 2016? For anyone interested in a leadership position on res in 2016, it is highly recommended that you attend the “You the Man presentation that is coming up in Burwood. You the Man is a theatre-based program that highlights how bystanders can interrupt cycles of relationship violence and abuse. The program comprises a 35-minute play followed by a moderated discussion with a panel of local experts from the host community. The program empowers men and women to step out of a passive bystander role and practise safe intervention. More than 1700 people attended You the Man performances in Victoria in 2013-14. 80% of participants said seeing You the Man increased their sense of being able to take action on behalf of someone else. Come and see it for yourself! Burwood performance: 21 July 2015, Richard Searby Room. Refreshments from 12 o'clock and performance from 12.30 to 2.30 pm. Register here. http://www.deakin.edu.au/about-deakin/administrative-divisions/equitydiversity/campaigns-networks-events Once you have registered, please forward your confirmation email to bsradmin@deakin.edu.au to let us know. Chicken, Corn and Risoni Soup Ingredients
Olive oil cooking spray
1 medium brown onion, finely diced
2 teaspoons salt-reduced chicken stock powder
6 cups boiling water
2 (400g) chicken breast fillets
2 sweet corn cobs, husks removed
1/3 cup dried risoni pasta
1 large zucchini, trimmed, finely diced
75g baby spinach
Chopped fresh chives and Cheesy herb toasts, to serve
Method 1. Spray a large saucepan with oil. Heat over medium heat. Cook onion, stirring, for 5 minutes or until softened. Place stock powder and boiling water in a large heatproof jug. Stir to dissolve stock. Add mixture to pan. Bring to the boil. 2. Add chicken and corn. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 10 minutes or until chicken is just cooked through. Remove chicken and corn. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool slightly. 3. Meanwhile, add pasta to pan. Simmer for 10 minutes or until pasta is tender. Using 2 forks, shred chicken. Cut kernels from corn cobs. Return chicken and corn to pan. Add zucchini. Simmer for 2 minutes or until zucchini is tender. 4. Remove pan from heat. Stir in spinach until just wilted.
