Staying on? Leaving early?

Unless you have made prior arrangements with the Resi office, residents with a lease ending at the end of T2 MUST check out by 12 midday on the 3rd of November.

This means everything is out of your room and you have handed back your access card/ keys to reception.

If you haven’t already, please notify reception before Friday 3rd October if you are:



staying for T3 (Remember, you don’t have to be studying!)



wishing to extend your stay for just a few extra days/weeks/months



leaving earlier than November 3rd

This will assist us greatly with preparing rooms for incoming students.

We hope to hear from you soon about your plans beyond T2!

ARE YOU AGED BETWEEN 18 AND 30 YEARS AND OWN A SMARTPHONE? Measuring Eating In Everyday Life Study

Food is an important part of everyday life and is important for health.

Everyday people choose foods to eat and eat a range of meals but little is known about how and why people consume foods together.

Centre Against Sexual Assault Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault provides free information, counselling and advocacy to students (both male and female) who have experienced sexual assault at any time in their lives.

A ECASA Counsellor/Advocate is available each Tuesday on campus.

Book an appointment by calling Student Life or 9244 6300 (ask for Student Life) or drop into Building B.

What is sexual assault? Sexual assault is any behaviour of a sexual nature that is unwanted, makes you feel scared or uncomfortable and occurs without your consent.

Why see a counsellor? 

Help you to express your feelings, understand how it has affected you, and discover new ways of coping and feeling safe.



Provides a confidential space where you can talk, be listened to and be believed.



If you have reported or are considering reporting a sexual assault to police, it can be helpful to receive support, information and advocacy from a counsellor through this process.

Together these agencies are trying to better our drinking culture and highlight moderate drinking as the norm.

Exams Approaching!

Deakin Counselling service website can provide you with information and advice to assist you at times when you need support, the lead up to exams can be a time when many students feels overwhelmed and anxious.

There is assistance available, click here for information and contact details for the service, phone consultations are also available.

Travel Health If you are planning on travelling overseas at the end of the year, please remember to check that your vaccinations are up to date for the countries you are visiting.

Recipe of the Week One-pot Japanese teriyaki chicken Ingredients (serves 4) 

500g chicken thigh fillets, trimmed, cut into 3cm pieces



1/4 cup teriyaki marinade



Cooking spray

1 1/2 cups SunRice Jasmine Fragrant Rice, rinsed, drained 

2 long red chillies, halved, deseeded, thinly sliced 



1 carrot, grated



1 bunch baby bok choy, trimmed, roughly chopped

Method 1. Combine chicken and marinade in a glass or ceramic dish. Refrigerate, covered, for 30 minutes if time permits.

2. Put cooking spray onto a large, heavy-based, nonstick saucepan over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from dish, reserving marinade. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until sealed. Transfer to a bowl.

Add rice to pan. Add reserved marinade and 2 1/2 cups cold water. Bring to the boil.

Reduce heat to low.

Top rice with chicken and chilli. Cook, covered, for 12 to 15 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Stir in carrot and bok choy. Cook for 2 minutes or until bok choy has wilted. Serve.
