Res Leadership Info Night Are you interested in taking on a leadership role at res in 2015? We will be running an information session about Residential Leaders and the BEARS committees on Monday 4th August at 6.45pm.
Attending this session is mandatory if you wish to be eligible to apply. You will need to bring your Deakin Card to the session as this is how we will be registering your attendance. So come along and learn more about how you can get involved and make a difference in the res community!

SafeZone App SafeZone is a free app for all students and staff, that connects you directly to the Deakin security team when you need help while you are on campus. Please never hesitate to use this app to contact security any time you:

The ESSENCE Expo promotes health and wellbeing with a particular focus on mental health. Sexual Health The Facts about Chlamydia What is Chlamydia? Chlamydia is a common sexually transmissible infection (STI). If someone has Chlamydia they can pass it on to another person during unprotected sex. Both men and women can carry this infection. How do I know if I have Chlamydia? The majority of men and women who have Chlamydia infection don’t know it because they have no symptoms and feel completely well. Only a small number of people with Chlamydia have symptoms. These might be:

Group Challenge Congratulations to Chelsea Nichols for being the first person to come to reception to answer the following question correctly and collect a free movie voucher! Q: If you have a maintenance issue in your room/unit, how do you report it? A. Go to the Residences homepage and click on “Resident Log-in” before following the prompts. This week we have a group challenge! Gather at least 20 unit/floor members to sit on a "U shaped" wooden bench on mutant way, take a photo and then show it to the reception front desk in person. The winning group will receive a $100 Safeway letter for the next unit function!

Recipe of the Week Indian spiced chicken with rice salad Serves 4
Ingredients 1/3 cup Pataks tandoori paste
1/2 cup plain Greek-style yoghurt
650g chicken thigh fillets, trimmed
450g SunRice Basmati Rice
1 Lebanese cucumber, diced
1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves
Method 1. Combine tandoori paste and 2 tablespoons yoghurt together in a bowl. Add chicken. Stir to coat. Cover. Refrigerate for 2 hours to marinate, if time permits. 2. Heat a barbecue plate or chargrill on medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 4 minutes each side or until cooked through. Transfer to a plate. Cover with foil. Stand for 5 minutes. 3. Meanwhile, cook rice following packet directions. Transfer to a bowl. Add cucumber and coriander to bowl. Stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper. 4. Serve chicken with rice salad and remaining yoghurt.
