Free Food, Massages and Prizes

The ESSENCE Expo promotes health and wellbeing with a particular focus on mental health. The ESSENCE Expo between 12 midday and 2 pm TOMORROW (7 August Burwood), Mutant Way. During the Expo, there will be FREE food and entertainment (thanks to DUSA) and FREE massage. Random PRIZES throughout the event will occur and you will have a chance to win an IPAD (thanks to BUPA). Resi Challenge! Congratulations to Nelson Taylor and his C-Block crew! This group was the first to tackle this week’s challenge by sitting on a "U shaped" wooden bench on mutant way and taking a photo for reception. For completing the challenge, C-Block will receive a $100 Safeway letter for their next unit function!

This week is an individual challenge. The first resi who comes to reception to answer the below will win a Hoyts Movie Voucher! Q. Name 5 ways to avoid setting the fire alarms off on res.

Recipe of the Week Broccolini pad Thai Serves 4

Ingredients 

440g packet shelf-fresh Thai flat rice noodles

Cooking spray

1 brown onion, finely chopped

2 bunches broccolini, trimmed, cut into 3cm lengths

1 carrot, halved, thinly sliced diagonally

240g jar Valcom pad Thai paste

2 eggs, lightly beaten

Method 1. Place noodles in a heatproof bowl. Cover with boiling water. Stand for 2 minutes. Gently separate noodles. Drain. 2. Spray wok and put on high heat. Add onion. Stir-fry for 1 minute or until tender. Add broccolini and carrot. Stir-fry for 4 minutes or until almost tender. Add paste. Stir-fry for 2 minutes or until fragrant. 3. Make a well in the centre of vegetables. Add egg. Cook for 1 minute or until set. Add noodles to wok. Stir-fry mixture for 1 to 2 minutes or until heated through, breaking up egg. Serve.
