SALSA WARRIORS RADIO PLAYING THE BEST SALSA ON THE PLANET!

Salsa Warriors Radio began its program in June 2014 as an ambitious and supportive project to enhance the most famous and danceable tropical genre in the world for more than three decades, Salsa Music. Among 15 disc jockeys friends, during a celebration, came the idea of this online station with live DJs that would play Salsa 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; just Salsa from yesterday, today and always. So it was! This digital station currently has 14 DJs from two continents (America & Europe) and they perform their daily work with the most variable Salsa music, which differentiates it from the main FM commercial radio stations in New York and the rest of the planet. The name "Salsa Warriors" was chosen with great success by these 15 friends to identify those people willing to fight for the Salsa genre. Likewise, this corporation has three owners: "DJ Rey Boricua" Renan Morales, AndrĂŠs Padua and Harry Trinidad, elected by the 15 founding DJs and of which 9 continue with their radio programs on the digital station.

"To be a Salsa Warriors' DJ you must have experience, mastery with computers and a lot of Salsa music." After overcoming the estimated listeners of 700 people per month in its beginnings to 194,000 listeners worldwide each month in their different shows after four years, Salsa Warriors Radio also bets on national Salseros events after 2 months of its official opening as a radio station alternative.

Since September 2014, Salsa Warriors have been sponsors of 25 Salsa musical events on the East Coast of the United States, such as: Empire City Casino in Yonkers, NY and two annual Salsa concerts in the summer at Flushing Meadow Park, Queens also in New York with massive attendance of professional dancers, amateurs and lovers of salsa in general. In addition, they have had the support of great and renowned world-renowned artists who have attended these events, such as: Yolanda Rivera, Ismael Rivera Jr., Pedro Brull, Gilberto Colon Jr., Eddie Montalvo and Adalberto Santiago, among many others. This station, broadcaster of the salsa culture, can also listen to it through the Roku system, accepting its channel "Salsa Warriors".Â

Salsa Warriors Radio is committed to supporting both the Salsa masters with great experience and the new generation, the latter being the key to continue with the progress of this musical genre, said Renán Morales. Furthermore, Salsa Warriors radio maintains its plans to continue holding mass events, to maintain the digital station and bring orchestras from Puerto Rico or from other parts of the world to New York soon.

Renán Morales: Renán Morales was born in New York of Puerto Rican parents. He is the co-founder and Salsa Warriors Radio’s co-owner. His Radio Show "Salsa Es Lo Que Hay" airs on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm and Thursdays at 8:00 pm. His specialty is Salsa Dura and he has already broadcast 325 live shows. As "DJ Rey Boricua" has performed at: White Plains - NY, Nyack - NY and in Connecticut.

EL GRAN COMBO DE PUERTO RICO AT HOUSE OF BLUES ORLANDO IN ORLANDO THIS JULY The group has taken music all over the world from their mother land to North America, to Europe, Asia and Australia; they even visited Alaska in 1984 for the promotion of their Grammy campaign for album “Breaking the ice”. After rise and fall, the band has gone through different members and now there are only 16 members in El Gran Combo. However, they still have achieved many successes. Until 2006, El Gran Combo has published about 40 albums, and they have received many awards including golden albums in Mexico, a “Golden Combo” in Colombia and an honorable distinction in Spain.

En Bogotá, Colombia se encuentra y formó la agrupación musical GUAPA. Su nombre se debe a la belleza con talento y guapería al cantar la buena salsa de las integrantes: Claudia, Evelin, Kathe, Astrid, las cuales son acompañadas por diez músicos profesionales que las respaldan indudablemente con fuerza y energía, para así brindarle un buen show a sus espectadores. Javier Ortega, Director Musical de GUAPA, con una gran trayectoria en agrupaciones como Grupo Niche, Willie Colón, Yuri Buenaventura, Grupo Gale entre otras, ratifica así el éxito de la puesta en escena de la agrupación. Su primer sencillo fue un cover de Amanda Miguel, “Así No Te Amará Jamás”, iniciando su éxito; abriéndose las puertas a nivel internacional y a finales de ese año, grabaron su primer DVD en vivo, con los temas “No Renunciaré” y “Salsa Guapa”, un tema inédito, autoría del maestro Javier Ortega que representa a la agrupación, dando a conocer el swing y el talento de éstas hermosas representantes del género salsero femenino en diferente medios y países como México, Perú, Venezuela y Estados Unidos. En el 2014, lanzan un nuevo sencillo con la participación del gran cantante salsero Gustavo Rodríguez, durante la época decembrina, llamado “Llegó Navidad”, autoría de Javier Ortega, siendo esta muy solicitada. Luego en el 2015 surgió una nueva propuesta, un nuevo tema, “Estás Hablando De Mí”, autoría del gran maestro Hansel Camacho, el cual fue muy escuchado y a gusta del público en lugares insospechados como Uruguay y Tel Aviv, ampliando así el espacio salsero mundial. También surgió una propuesta de “Mujeres Cantando Salsa Dura”, el cual le realizan un gran tributo a la máxima exponente de la salsa “La Fania All Star”, llamado “Homenaje a Fania”, con la participación de grandes exponentes de la salsa colombiana como, Mauro Castillo, Christian Fernández, Jairo Andrade y Carlos Guerrero, que hicieron parte del majestuoso Grupo Niche y el inigualable Grupo Galé, abriendo espacios radiales tan grandes como lo son Puerto Rico y Nueva York, situándose como grandes representantes de la salsa Colombiana. Ya con el paso del tiempo formo la Academia “Fiebre Latina” en Colombia, gracias al apoyo de su hermano y socios, entre ellos “Carlos Ceballo” director de “Salsa Pura”, una compañía dedicada a dictar clases a extranjeros en Cali, “Francy Barahona” radicada en Paris pionera de la Salsa Caleña en Europa, “Eduardo Alban” con Anfitriones, quien forma nuevos talentos para dar continuidad al proceso. Con el objetivo de crear una marca que fuera diferente en el mundo musical, comenzaron a fusionar acrobacias, ritmos y técnicas de otras disciplinas de baile de todos los géneros pero tomando como base a la Salsa Caleña, colocándolos en un formato competitivo y de show creando una fiebre imparable.

CONOCE LA ESCUELA DE BAILE SALSA & COMPANY ¿Sabías que el baile es considerado actualmente un deporte? El baile permite mejorar la flexibilidad, fuerza y resistencia, pero, lo más importante de esta práctica en los practicantes sobretodo en los jóvenes es que aumenta su inteligencia, mejora la memoria, desarrolla la autoestima, elimina la depresión y el estrés, siendo un efecto muy positivo en su desarrollo tanto en su vida social como psicológica. No obstante, para los que les gusta y quieren desenvolverse y/o desarrollar este talento se necesita practicar mucho para así mostrarle al público sus habilidades y destrezas, permitiéndoles una sana competencia con otros bailarines y esto se logra gracias a las academias de baile. En esta ocasión, en Uruguay, Montevideo en Constituyente 1637 esq. Roxlo, se encuentra la Escuela de baile, Salsa & Company, que surgió como un proyecto Salsero en 1996 impartiendo por más de 15 años, clases de “Salsa”, “Bachata” y ”Kizomba” en los más prestigiosos centros artísticos de Uruguay; y a partir del 2008 abre sus puertas al público de la mano de William Adrián Merlo para que sus alumnos logren sus metas en el ámbito de la danza y hagan del baile una forma de vida y encuentren un espacio distendido y ameno donde la calidez del ritmo y la unidad hagan aún más alegre el esfuerzo de aprender. Sus objetivos es difundir a nivel mundial la cultura musical de los ritmos latinos, conformar grupos unitarios y mostrar sus éxitos a los espectadores en las fiestas, congresos, talleres de baile. Actualmente la escuela de baile cuenta con un staff de profesionales de danza de larga trayectoria nacional e internacional, así como un equipo de soporte en las áreas administrativas y marketing, donde está como director William Adrián Merlo, la instructora Sofía de los Santos y Deborah Chitnisky, quienes dan sus clases de la siguiente manera: INTERNATIONAL SALSA MAGAZINE

Herman Olivera el sonero del siglo XXI

Este excelente cantante de Salsa llamado Hermenegildo Olivera nace un 30 de Enero de 1959 en Newark, New Jersey es hijo de padres Puertorriqueños y desde muy temprana edad sintió una gran afinidad por la música latina ya que su padre escuchaba las agrupaciones del momento como Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Machito, Ismael Rivera con Cortijo y su Combo, Alegre All Stars, Tito Rodríguez, Santitos Colon, etc. Luego en la década del 70 en pleno Boom de la salsa Herman empezó su afición por el canto escuchando las interpretaciones de Chamaco Ramírez, Héctor Lavo'e, Cheo Feliciano y Marvin Santiago entre otros, estos vocalistas fueron principalmente su fuente de inspiración; esa escuela de soneros le sirvió de aprendizaje y es allí cuando toma la decisión de cantar profesionalmente. Cuando contaba con apenas 15 años de edad Herman comenzó su carrera como intérprete de Salsa con una orquesta llamada “La Justicia”, luego de esta forma parte de la banda “La Sónica” donde conoció a su amigo y trombonista Jimmy Bosch, después de esto estuvo un tiempo con la orquesta “Caramelo” para después dar el salto más importante en su carrera al formar parte del “Conjunto Libre” en 1978 en donde deja plasmada su voz por primera vez en el LP “Increíble” del año 1981 bajo la dirección del percusionista Manolo Oquendo y el Bajista Andy González en donde se destaca con el tema “Decídete”. Luego en 1983 grabaría con el Conjunto Libre en la producción “Ritmo, sonido y estilo” el tema “Que Humanidad” que se convertiría en todo un éxito. En 1988 Herman sale de la agrupación “Libre” y pasa a formar parte de un proyecto de Sr Fernando Pastrana y bajo la dirección musical del trompetista Miguel Santiago cuyo disco se denominó “La Exclusiva” el cual comparte la parte vocal con Roberto Mier, en este disco se destaca interpretando los temas “Xiomara” y “Te vi pasar”. - 34 -

Me extraña araña” es uno de los más sobresalientes. En el año 1996 se vuelve a reunir con el Conjunto Libre y realizan el disco en vivo titulado “On The Movie”. Para 1997 participa en el CD de la banda Rikoson All Stars llamado “Evoluciones Del Son” donde se destaca muy bien en el tema de corte romántico “Aquella Noche”.

Luego de esto en 1990 es invitado a grabar en el álbum “Salsa Sudada”, del sello Valdesa Records de Víctor Raúl Sánchez “Patillas” y con la dirección musical de Isidro Infante, compartiendo vocalización con Mario Muñoz “Papaíto”, Adalberto Santiago, Eladio Peguero “Yayo El Indio” y Pablo Villanueva Branda “Melcochita”; en este trabajo interpreta los temas “La aguja” y un homenaje a la ciudad de Cali llamado “Valle plateado de salsa”. Continua con su carrera como intérprete y en el año 1993 es nuevamente invitado a grabar con el Conjunto Libre la producción “Ahora” donde sin dudas queda plasmada sus grandes condiciones y recursos como cantante, allí el tema “Tú me perteneces” se convirtió en un hit además de otros temas como “Obsesión” y “El Son” destacan en este disco. Posteriormente lanza al mercado un proyecto independiente denominado Herman Olivera y La Exclusiva “Chequea La Mercancía” producido por Fernando Pestana donde el tema “

En 1998 es solicitado por el maestro del piano Eddie Palmieri y junto con el vocalista Wichy Camacho graban el disco “El Rumbero Del Piano” en el cual se destaca como cantante en los temas “Malagueña salerosa” y “Oiga mi guaguancó” ese mismo año es invitado a los estudios de grabación por el trombonista Jimmy Bosch y lanzan al mercado el álbum titulado “Soneando Trombón” el cual contiene el éxito “Otra oportunidad” que interpreta a dúo con Frankie Vázquez, en este CD también está inserto el tema “Descargarana”. Esa misma dupla Olivera y Bosch se reúnen al año siguiente (1999) y realizan la producción “Salsa Dura” en donde Herman se luce interpretando la plena “Impacto tendremos” este disco también cuenta con la participación de los cantantes Frankie “Nene” Morales y Frankie Vázquez paralelo a este disco el sello RMM lanza al mercado un CD y DVD en vivo titulado “Eddie Palmieri & Friend's” donde Herman luce excelente en el número “Palo Pa’ Rumba”.

This recording with duration of 5 years of production and postproduction achieves the goal of telling through their songs, life experiences and stories that include a contribution to the culture of the national Salsa, thanks to its unique sound and the pen of the composers and members of the orchestra: Marco Montoya and Carlos Xavier Soto. The single "Cha Cha Borinquen 415" is a tale of two songs wrapped in one with an introduction of Cha Cha with a Hard Salsa explosion and the incorporation of percussion solos of the highest energy. The Cuban timba is present in "Carolina" and the Puerto Rican style of Salsa from the old school in "Yo Tengo Una". In the seventh track you can enjoy the voice of the special guest, Willy Torres (leading vocalist of Spanish Harlem Orchestra) in "La Culebra", a song with the purest New York style. "Americano Latino" and "Nosotros" contribute to the album the characteristic sound of the timeless Salsa. The modern Salsa with a touch of pop element is represented by "Ay Negra", which adds a touch of freshness to the record production. Finally, one of the most important covers in this CD is "Never Knew I Needed" (Salsa version), it is versioned with the mix of both languages: Spanish - English, which gives an inclusive, modern and versatile touch to the song original R&B written by the singer and composer Ne-Yo and is dedicated to the audience that also enjoys this tropical music in the Anglo-Saxon language. This orchestra of young musicians, and led in principle by Bill Ortega Sr (until 2016), is an entirely familiar musical project where each member had shared with each other previously in other groups, which made the perfect combination of talent and personality that characterizes it nowadays and turns it into "a very polished Salsa band". PEDRO BERMÚDEZ RELEASED HIS NEW SALSA ALBUM “ARRASANDO” The Salsa pianist from Puerto Rico, Pedro Bermúdez, released his most recent record production "Arrasando" with the collaboration of the main Salsa legends and the New Salsera blood on June 5th. This was announced by Bermúdez through his official Facebook account. Arrasando is a heavy and hard traditional Salsa project that brings together a dream team of musicians and salsa legends from Puerto Rico and New York City, such as: Bobby Valentin (Bass), Reynaldo Jorge (Trombone), Frankie Vazquez (vocals), Eddie Montalvo (Congas), Ralph Irizarry (Timbales) and Jose Mangual (Bongos), among many others. The 11 tracks of this album are original arrangements and lyrics. Arrasando also includes two Latin jazz composition in big band style with a lot of solos and “descargas” in each single.

“Te busco y no te encuentro" Lo nuevo de Newman Zamora (Prensa/San Juan Producciones) El joven cantante venezolano, Newman Zamora, estrenó este viernes 16 de febrero, en su canal oficial en YouTube, su segundo sencillo promocional, “Te busco y no te encuentro”, una salsa romántica con letra y música del cantautor criollo Frederman Franco. Con la producción y arreglos musicales de Wilmer Herrera, fue grabada en los estudios AudioPlace y estudios San Agustín “Paicosa”, y contó son la ejecución de los reconocidos músicos: Joel Uriola (piano), Freddy Rivas (congas y bongó), Yorma “Caballito” Méndez (timbal), Wilmer Herrera (bajo), Lewis Escolante (trombones), en los coros, Gonzalo Martínez y Frederman Franco. Preparando su primer disco Desde el momento en que decidió emprender su carrera como cantante solista en el género de la salsa, se propuso como meta entrar al mercado mundial con un disco, que hasta los momentos no tiene nombre. En 2017 @newmanzamoraoficial, arranca el proceso de grabación con la versión del tema “Para sentir aquello”, por su admiración al cantautor brasileño Alexandre Pires. Con su lanzamiento el 06 de octubre del mismo año, logra su entrada formal a este género, recibiendo la aceptación de colegas y del público salsero. Esta agradable experiencia lo impulsó a continuar rápidamente con la producción de este segundo tema, que le solicitó a su amigo de muchos años, Frederman Franco, quien ha compuesto para Maelo Ruiz, O.S, entre otros. - 44 -

“Te busco y no te encuentro” y “Para sentir aquello”, se cuentan entre los ocho temas que conformarán su novel producción discográfica, que se espera esté finalizada para el mes de Mayo. Músico y cantante versátil Newman Zamora, nació en Caracas el 30 de Mayo de 1980. Inició sus estudios de música en el conservatorio José Ángel Lamas, en 1990, donde recibió clases de solfeo y violín. Durante cinco años formó parte de la coral de su escuela, que combinó con el violín y la percusión. Luego ingresó al conservatorio Pedro Nolazco, donde estudió flauta traversa. Para 1993, conformó el equipo de fundadores de la Orquesta Pre-infantil de Chacao, bajo la batuta del maestro Juan Cristóbal Palacios. Durante su adolescencia fue integrante de la agrupación “La calle de la amargura”, creada en 2001 por Jhonny Núñez y Ricardo Montaner. Para 2004 participó en diversas agrupaciones en el género afrocubano como percusionista y cantante.
