PRE-DESIGN ANALYSES SUN AND SHADE
SHADE AND WHAT IT WILL MEAN FOR THE PARK • Park will become heavily shaded from Fall - Spring » Limits viability for community gardens • During Summer, the park will mostly receive full sun » Provide seating in sun and shade » Wider plant species selection in Sun

GENERAL DESIGN SCHEME
Playground • Activates back of Park • Fencing on three sides gives security for children • Specify playground equipment that can be “seen-through”
Lawn/Informal Area • Central location allows play or picnicking to overflow from either side • Field games less likely to roll into the street
Champlain St. Park
Light at back of park to provide evening visibility
Dedicated Seating/Gardens • Offers quick open and welcoming space at the front of the park • Increased visibilty to and from the street and sidewalk
