Land Acknowledgment

The City of Burlington acknowledges that Calahan Park is situated on unceded traditional land of N’dakinna, the ancestral homeland of the Abenaki people. The park is steeped in rich Indigenous history. We recognize the indigenous culture and people that existed in N’dakinna long before Europeans arrived in North America, and those here today. As a City, we have and acknowledge gratitude for the Abenaki people, the stewards and caretakers of the land on which we live, play and work.
