We are thrilled to have you join us for the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Games here in Brownsville, Texas!
The TAAF Games are a special event that brings together some of the most talented athletes in the state. It’s a chance for them to showcase their skills, compete for glory, and be part of something bigger than themselves. But these Games are about more than just winning medals. They’re about sportsmanship, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence. They inspire us all to reach for our goals and strive to be our best selves.
This year marks the second time Brownsville has had the honor of hosting these prestigious Games. It’s a testament to our amazing community and the spirit of sportsmanship that thrives here. By attending the Games, you’re not just watching incredible athletic feats – you’re becoming a part of history.

GAMES OF TEXAS (BROWNSVILLE) - POTENTIAL WEATHER
Attention Athletes and Participants:
There is a chance of inclement weather during the TAAF Games of Texas in Brownsville, taking place July 25-28, 2024.
We plan to proceed with scheduled events as planned. However, in the event of lightning, activities will be paused for 30 minutes while participants seek shelter. Be prepared for potential delays that could extend into the evening or night.
Track and Field: Timed finals may be implemented if weather disrupts the schedule. Athletes are advised to treat preliminary events as potentially final.
Indoor Sports: Delays are also possible for
some indoor sports, including swimming.
Important Reminders:
A new 30-minute weather delay cycle begins with each new lightning strike within range. All participants are responsible for staying informed about schedule changes. Announcements will be made on-site, and updates will be posted at the TAAF website: gamesoftexas.com
