The term “student-athlete” signifies something extraordinary on the campus of Bucknell University. Being a Bison means that you have the rare blend of physical skills along with the drive and passion needed to succeed at the highest level of collegiate athletics. Being a Bison also means that you are a scholar first and foremost. You believe that values associated with Division I athletics, such as time management, leadership, teamwork and grace under pressure, contribute to a well-rounded college experience. At Bucknell, our students, faculty and staff pride themselves as national leaders in upholding the scholar-athlete ideal that balances a challenging academic program with the demands of successful Division I athletics. Bucknell Bison Athletics Setting the Standard of Excellence
Bucknell takes great pride in its commitment to excellence on and off the playing fields. From Presidents’ Cups to Academic All-Americans to graduation rates that are ranked annually in the national top-10, Bucknell is clearly at the head of the class when it comes to upholding the scholar-athlete ideal.

With three more Patriot League championships in 2008-09, Bucknell has now earned 73 crowns in 19 years in the league. In addition, Bucknell has had 100 conference players of the year, 83 PL coaches of the year and a whopping 476 individual league champions from sports such as cross country, track & field, swimming & diving, tennis and golf.

Bucknell has captured the Patriot League Presidents’ Cup, signifying the league’s all-sports champion, 15 times in the 19-year history of the affiliation, including 11 of the last 12 years. Bucknell claimed the overall and women’s Cup standings in 2008-09. It was the 12th straight year and the 15th time overall that the Bison took home the women’s title. In 2008-09, Bucknell won Patriot League titles in women’s indoor track & field, women’s rowing and men’s golf. Additionally, the baseball and men’s lacrosse teams captured regular-season titles.

According to federal data released by the NCAA in the fall of 2008, Bucknell’s four-year student-athlete graduation rate was second-highest in the nation among student-athletes who entered college between the 1998-99 and 2001-02 academic years. With a four-class average of 89 percent, Bucknell trailed only Davidson (92 percent) among all Division I institutions reporting federal graduation rates (the Ivy League and military academies do not report federal graduation rates). Georgetown, Notre Dame and Holy Cross were also at 89 percent. Bucknell’s student-athlete graduation rate is identical to its overall student-body average of 89 percent.

Bucknell has claimed a league-high 113 Patriot League Scholar-Athletes of the Year since the league’s inception as an all-sports conference in 1990-91.

Bucknell ranks FIFTH in the nation (to Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State and Stanford) in total number of ESPN The Magazine All-America selections.

A total of 366 Bison appeared on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2008-09 after recording a GPA of 3.2 or better during their sport’s competition season. Among all BU student-athletes, 255 made the Dean’s List with GPAs of 3.5 or better in the spring of 2009.

In addition to the 117 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-Americans produced since 1970, Bucknell has also claimed 276 Academic All-District honorees over the same span, including a school-record 22 in 2008-09.
A major element in ensuring Bucknell’s commitment to athletics excellence is the Kenneth G. Langone Athletics & Recreation Center, which opened fully in 2003. One of the finest collegiate athletics facilities of its kind, the center includes the 4,000-seat Sojka Pavilion, the Olympic class Kinney Natatorium, the Krebs Family Fitness Center and the Berger Family Weight Room. A Hall of Fame area, a display of Bucknell’s Medal of Honor recipients, a new Academic All-America wall, a sports medicine suite, modern offices for coaches and staff, and locker room and classroom space are also included in the facility’s layout.

Bucknell Bison Athletics
A National Model in Promoting the Scholar-Athlete Ideal Bucknell Athletics is first and foremost a student-centered organization, one that strives to be a national model when it comes to operating by a true scholar-athlete model. At Bucknell, student-athletes’ academic programs are their first priority, and providing a competitive Division I athletics program only advances the mission, values and residential learning goals of the university. To that end, the Department of Athletics and Recreation proactively seeks ways to assist student-athletes in their daily academic pursuits. Below are just some of the student-athlete support programs currently in place. FACULTY ATHLETICS REPRESENTATIVE: The faculty athletics representative (FAR) is a member of the faculty or administrative staff who is designated to represent Bucknell in its relationships with the NCAA and the Patriot League. Bucknell’s FAR is Mitch Chernin, Professor of Biology. The FAR can enhance the student-athlete experience by promoting a balance between academics, athletics and the social lives of student-athletes, which affords them opportunities to enjoy the full range of collegiate experiences available to students generally. SIDELINE COACH PROGRAM: This program is a truly unique initiative in Division I college athletics, and it involves the invitation of a member of the faculty, administration, staff or community by one of Bucknell’s 27 varsity teams. The participant has the opportunity to discuss the overall program with the respective coaching staff, including practice preparation and strategy for the upcoming contest. The sideline coach attends a practice session and an actual intercollegiate competition, where he/she is introduced to the team and gains rarely seen insight into the relationships that exist between player-coach and player-player. The purpose of the Sideline Coaches Program is to foster a better understanding by the faculty and administration of the roles played by coaches and athletes in the university’s competitive intercollegiate athletic arena. ACADEMIC ENHANCEMENT CENTER: In the Fall of 2005, the Department of Athletics opened a study/computer lab for student-athletes on the concourse level of Sojka Pavilion. The center is outfitted with computers, a laser printer, four television monitors and a projection unit with computer, VCR and DVD player. Additionally, the study lab can be used as a meeting place for group projects, tutorial area or just a secluded and quiet study space before or after practice. LAPTOP PROGRAM: The Department of Athletics owns a number of laptop computers that may be signed out by student-athletes for use on away trips. STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SAAC): Representatives from each varsity team comprise the SAAC, which is designed to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image. The Committee is an invaluable resource for promoting communication between athletics administration and student-athletes; promoting communication between athletics and campus-wide administration; providing feedback and insight, as well as soliciting responses into department issues and proposed NCAA legislation; building a sense of community within the athletics program involving all athletics teams; organizing community service projects and efforts; creating a vehicle for student-athlete representation on campus-wide committees; serving as a collective voice of campus student-athletes; and disseminating information to the student-athlete body. OTHER PROGRAMMING: The Department of Athletics, through the identification of outside speakers and periodic “Brown Bag Luncheons,” thrives to enhance the quality of the student-athlete experience as well as to educate student-athletes on a variety of issues that may affect them throughout their collegiate career. Some recent topics of interest have been alcohol, nutrition, body image, hazing, sexuality, diversity, career development, study skills, religious life and gambling.

The Bucknell University Department of Athletics and Recreation prides itself on setting the standard of excellence when it comes to success both on the playing fields and in the classroom. With 15 Patriot League Presidents’ Cups in 19 years, national leadership in graduation rates, 118 Academic All-Americans in 39 years and 114 Patriot League Scholar-Athletes in 19 years, Bucknell is clearly at the head of the class in terms of upholding the scholar-athlete model. The addition of the Kenneth G. Langone Athletics and Recreation Center, one of the finest collegiate athletics and recreation venues of its kind, ensures the continuation of that success. The facility enhances each of Bucknell’s 27 varsity programs and greatly expands the scope of its growing intramural and recreational sports offerings. A visually appealing structure located along Moore Avenue on the “downhill” side of campus, the Langone Athletics and Recreation Center was designed to reach out to all members of the campus community, including the student body, varsity student-athletes, faculty, staff and alumni. Three primary venues lie within the facility: the Arthur D. Kinney Jr. Natatorium, the 4,000-seat Gary A. Sojka Pavilion and the Krebs Family Fitness Center. Other features include a new location for the Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame, a display of Bucknell’s Congressional Medal of Honor recipients, a brand new display highlighting Bucknell’s all-time Academic All-Americans, a sports medicine and athletic training suite, classrooms, modern offices for coaches and staff and increased locker room space for varsity and recreational athletes. The facility is named in honor of Ken Langone, a 1957 Bucknell graduate who, along with his wife Elaine, pledged $11 million toward the center’s construction. Langone was a member of the university Board of Trustees from 1980 to 1996. One of the special qualities of the Langone Athletics and Recreation Center is the manner in which it supplements the pre-existing facilities. The construction surrounds Gerhard Fieldhouse and historic Davis Gymnasium, which has been restored as a competition venue for the Bison wrestling and volleyball teams, as well as intramural, recreation and other varsity practice activities. 2010 Season Preview The Bucknell men’s lacrosse team in 2010 returns as much offensive ammunition as anyone in the Patriot League, a resurgent faceoff unit and plenty of talented defenders to make up for some key graduation losses there. Perhaps more importantly, the Bison veterans return this spring with a feeling that there is some unfinished business to take care of. A year ago the Bison ran the table in Patriot League play, parlaying a perfect 6-0 conference record into the program’s first experience hosting the Patriot League Tournament. After dispatching Army in the semifinals, Bucknell dropped an agonizing 9-8 verdict to Navy in the championship game, spoiling a “what might have been” season. All told, the Bison were 9-7 in 2009. Four of those seven setbacks came by one goal, and two others were competitive losses to teams ranked in the top six (Duke, Notre Dame). Ultimately a reversal of one or two of those close losses might have meant a bid to the NCAA Tournament. And that will be a key motivating factor for the Orange & Blue heading into 2010. “We are to the point in our program now where we would be disappointed not to win a Patriot League championship,” said reigning league coach of the year Frank Fedorjaka. “That is our primary goal every year, and all of our preparation is geared toward winning the Patriot League. We feel like we have worked hard to take that next step.” Offensively, Bucknell returns seven of the nine men who scored three or more goals last season. Heading the list is two-time All-American Austin Winter, who is already one of the highest scoring and most decorated players in program history. Winter, a team co-captain this season along with Scott Monfort, had 17 goals and 32 assists in 15 games last season, and he is one of just five Bison laxmen to record 150 career points. “All of those accolades do not affect him at all,” said Fedorjaka of Winter. “He brings passion every day in practice. His work ethic is what has made him a great player, and it has rubbed off on his teammates.” But Bucknell’s attack unit is more than just Winter. Fellow senior Tim Brandau starts for the fourth straight year and has 98 career points, and junior Mike Danylyshyn moves back to his natural attack position after playing midfield for two years. Danylyshyn, who had 16 goals and nine assists last season, gives the Bison a lefthanded presence up front as he replaces 100-goal scorer Joe Mele.
In the offensive midfield, 2009 Patriot League Rookie of the Year Charlie Streep is already one of the best around. Streep took the league by storm a year ago, producing 25 goals and seven assists as a rookie. He had three gamewinning goals, including a miraculous buzzerbeater against Navy in March, and his teammates and coaches had enough confidence in him that he had the ball in his stick in key moments of tight games throughout the year. Senior Chris Palmer and junior Ryan Klipstein will likely join Streep on the first line, with senior Brandon Buchmayr, sophomore Nick Gantsoudes and freshman Kyle O’Keefe comprising a potent second line. “We do have a lot of offensive firepower,” said Fedorjaka. “We feel like if we can play the defense that we are accustomed to, we can be right there at the end.” Going into last season, the major concern was at the faceoff X. That issue disappeared quickly thanks to Jake Clarke. Now a junior, the former walk-on not only won the faceoff job, he became one of the best in the nation and broke numerous school records along the way. A First Team All-Patriot League selection, Clarke broke Bucknell marks for faceoff wins (163) and grounds balls (98) in a season, and he ranked among the national leaders in both categories. This year Fedorjaka feels like he has two more top-notch faceoff specialists in freshmen Ryan Gutowski and Wills Miller, which could mean Clarke would see more time on the wings, where his speed and ground ball ability would be put to even better use. Regardless, Clarke will certainly remain on the field even more this year, as he is also perhaps the team’s top returning short-stick defensive midfielder. This is the position that was hit hardest by graduation, as 2009 regulars Michael Cooke, John Togneri and Doug Buckley do not return. Joining Clarke in this important unit will be two much-improved players who are long on talent but short on experience: junior Jason Foreit and sophomore Andrew Van Valkenburg. Billy Haire, a 2009 All-American and Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year who started every game over the last four years, and twoyear starter Tom Izard have been lost on close defense, but the Bison will not be as green as might be expected there. Junior John Collett is back after starting every game and performing very well a year ago. Joining him on the top close defense unit will be junior Alex Lyons and sophomore Jason

Neithamer. A former standout at prep power Boys’ Latin, Lyons has paid his dues as a mandown defender and fourth defenseman for the last two seasons, and has seen plenty of field time. Neithamer, meanwhile, was fantastic as a long-stick defensive midfielder as a freshman last season, and he will likely inherit Haire’s role as the No. 1 stopper assigned to the opposition’s best attackman. Another very talented sophomore in ground-ball machine John Scally joins Monfort, a four-year regular, as the top poles. Also keep an eye on freshman Mike Huffner, who had an outstanding fall season and will likely see time at both close defense and long-stick d-middie. Bucknell has had incredible stability at the goalie position for the last decade, as the Bison have had only three regular netminders over the last 10 years. The last of those, 2009 Patriot League Goalie of the Year Nick Sciubba, has now graduated. So has his trusty sidekick Matt Antonelli, who also had several big moments over the last few years. Breaking in a new starting goalie has been such a rarity at Bucknell that when it does happen it naturally leads to some uncertainty within the program. Fortunately, junior Sam Finnell eased much of that nervousness with a very solid fall ball campaign, and he enters the season as the No. 1 goalie. Finnell played in three games totaling about 16 minutes last season. He is inexperienced, but he is a terrific athlete who is capable of making the tough save and is strong in clearing situations. Freshmen Kyle Feeney and Josh Briskman back up Finnell. “Our fortunes will probably boil down to our defense,” predicted Fedorjaka, whose unit ranked No. 12 in goals against and No. 5 in mandown efficiency last season. “Billy Haire made huge plays for us and took on that lead role for four years, and now others are going to have to step up. The good news is that it’s not like these guys are brand new. They have all played other roles in the past, and they played very well together in the fall. It is going to be tough to replace all of the minutes we lost, but I really like the talent we have back there.” The 2010 squad will only feature six seniors, but Fedorjaka likes his team’s makeup as it prepares for the season opener against Duke in Atlanta on Feb. 13. “We don’t have many seniors, but our senior leadership has been outstanding,” said Fedorjaka. “Our team chemistry is great, and it has probably been my most pleasant surprise.”

BUCKNELL BISON 2010 Men’s Lacrosse Bison Coaching Staff FRANK FEDORJAKA HEAD COACH 5th SEASON
Frank Fedorjaka was picked as the 2009 Patriot League Coach of the Year.
After two stints as an assistant coach at Bucknell spanning nearly a decade, Frank Fedorjaka took over as head coach in 2006 when he succeeded longtime mentor Sid Jamieson. Fedorjaka became only the second head coach in Bucknell lacrosse history, following in the footsteps of Jamieson, the Bucknell Hall of Famer who founded the varsity lacrosse program in 1968. In his first season at the helm, Fedorjaka led the Bison to a historic victory over No. 1 Maryland — the program’s first-ever victory over a top-ranked team — and another top-20 road win at Penn State later in the season. The victories really began to start pouring in year No. 2, as the Bison went 11-4, including three top-20 wins, and came within one of the school record for wins in a season. Another 10-win season followed in 2008, and the Bison advanced all the way to the Patriot League championship game for the first time. Last season Fedorjaka was named Patriot League Coach of the Year for the first time after leading the Bison to a perfect 6-0 conference record and the Patriot League regular-season title. His team made it to the championship game for the second year in a row, this time dropping a one-goal heartbreaker to Navy. Known throughout his career as one of the college game’s best defensive minds, Fedorjaka’s teams annually rank among the national leaders in scoring defense, man-down defense and riding efficiency. In his first four years as head coach he has mentored three All-Patriot League defensemen, including 2009 All-American Billy Haire, and two allconference goalies. One of those goalies, Nick Sciubba, led the nation in save percentage and goals-against average in 2007. He has also coached two-time All-American Austin Winter, and last year’s team produced a school-record six First Team All-Patriot League honorees. Three of Fedorjaka’s student-athletes have gone on to play professional lacrosse after graduation. Fedorjaka rejoined the Bucknell lacrosse family after serving as head coach at Franklin & Marshall for five years. Fedorjaka served as an assistant coach at Bucknell for the 1992 and 1993 seasons before going to F&M. In Fedorjaka’s five seasons at F&M, the Diplomats compiled a 39-31 record. His 39 wins placed him in second on the school’s all-time lacrosse wins list. In 1995 Fedorjaka was named the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association’s Division III Coach of the Year, after leading the Diplomats to a 12-3 record and an NCAA playoff berth. In addition to his responsibilities as men’s lacrosse coach, Fedorjaka also served as an assistant coach in football and women’s soccer during his tenure at F&M. Also while at F&M Fedorjaka served as the Chair to the Southern ECAC Lacrosse Committee in 1997 and 1998. He served on the USILA National Ranking Committee and NCAA Advisory Committee for Division III lacrosse. A 1989 graduate of Hobart College, Fedorjaka was a starting longstick midfielder on three NCAA Division III national championship teams. He was also a three-year starter at wide receiver for the Statesman football team, earning All-America honors in 1988. The Rochester, N.Y., native was named Hobart’s Athlete of the Year in 1989. During his career at Hobart, he held all reception records and remained the school’s all-time leading receiver until 2004. Fedorjaka began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for two years at Springfield College (Mass.). Fedorjaka and his wife, Kathy, who is Bucknell’s head women’s basketball coach, live in Winfield, Pa., with their 12-year-old son Matthew and eight-year-old daughter Jamie.

JUDD LATTIMORE ASSISTANT COACH 2nd SEASON
Judd Lattimore, a former attackman at the University of North Carolina who had won better than 71 percent of his games in seven years as a collegiate assistant coach, joined the Bucknell men’s lacrosse staff as offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator in August 2008. Lattimore is certainly no stranger to winning lacrosse, as success has followed him throughout his career. In fact, Lattimore coached in the NCAA Tournament in each of his six years prior to coming to Bucknell, and in his first year in Lewisburg the Bison came within one goal of a national tournament berth. In his debut season here, Bucknell was the second-highest-scoring team in team in the Patriot League, averaging 10.4 goals per game. The Bison ranked No. 12 nationally in scoring offense and No. 6 in extra-man efficiency. His attack unit has been ranked among the nation’s best. In 2007, Lattimore returned to his alma mater as co-offensive coordinator, and in his first year back with the Tar Heels the team finished 10-6 — a six-win improvement over the previous season — and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament while averaging just under 11 goals per game. In 2008, UNC averaged 10 goals per game and was the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament before being upset by Navy in the first round. During the 2006 season, Lattimore served as an assistant coach at Penn, where he helped the Quakers to a 10-4 record — their most victories in 18 years — an NCAA Tournament berth and a No. 12 final national ranking. A year earlier, Lattimore worked under the legendary Bob Shillinglaw at Delaware, and that Blue Hens team captured the Colonial Athletic Association regular-season title and received an NCAA Tournament bid. Lattimore spent the 2003 and 2004 campaigns as the offensive coordinator at Division II power Limestone College, and the team made it all the way to the national championship game both years. In 2004, Lattimore’s offensive unit scored 19.3 goals per game, the highest figure in any division of lacrosse, and the team scored a school-record 314 goals en route to a 15-2 season. During his playing days at North Carolina, Lattimore was a two-year starter for the Tar Heels and was an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America selection in 2000. A native of Auburn, N.Y., Lattimore earned his bachelor of arts degree in interpersonal and organizational communication from UNC in May 2001.
JOE CONNER JR. ASSISTANT COACH 1st SEASON
Joe Conner Jr. is in his first season on the Bucknell men’s lacrosse staff. He was the assistant lacrosse coach at Mount St Mary’s for the past two years before coming to Bucknell. At Mount St. Mary’s, Conner helped coach the Mount to a 5-3 conference record and a No. 2 seed in the MAAC playoffs, the Mount’s first conference playoff appearance in two years. He served as recruiting coordinator, and in his final season with The Mount he coached the defense, helping them to a No. 9 national ranking in goals allowed. Conner is a 2007 graduate of Mount St. Mary’s and received his M.B.A. from The Mount as well in May of 2009. As a student-athlete, he played at Binghamton University for three years before transferring to Mount St. Mary’s to finish his playing career and pursue his coaching career. He was a midfielder at Binghamton and then was moved to attack when he transferred to Mount St. Mary’s. A native of Ijamsville, Md., he played both lacrosse and football at Urbana High School. He was a high school All-American in lacrosse and started at quarterback on a record-setting football team that won four straight state championships and carried a 50-game winning streak. His father, Joe Conner Sr., is currently the head coach for both football and lacrosse at Urbana.

BUCKNELL BISON 2010 Men’s Lacrosse BUCKNELL ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME Thomas E. Cusick ’87
A three-time All-East Coast Conference selection in men’s lacrosse, Cusick earned honorable mention All-America honors as a junior and was selected for the North-South Senior All-Star game in 1987. He ranked in the top five in the nation in scoring as a junior and senior, and was Bucknell’s all-time leading scorer when he graduated.
C. Edwin Farver ’69
Co-captain of Bucknell’s first two varsity lacrosse teams and the 1968-69 basketball team, Farver was a first team Little All-America and MVP in the Middle Atlantic Conference in lacrosse in 1969. He played in the NorthSouth All-Star Game.
Sidney I. Jamieson
The head coach of the Bison lacrosse program from its varsity inception in 1968 until his retirement after the 2005 season, Jamieson is one of the legends of college lacrosse. He led the Bison to seven league titles in three different conferences and ranked 10th all-time with 242 wins. He coached 17 All-Americans and was named USILA Coach of the Year after guiding Bucknell to a 12-0 record in 1996. In 2005 he received the prestigious Spirit of Tewaaraton Award.
Louis L. Kissling, Jr. ’71
Twice an All-American in lacrosse, Kissling co-captained his senior team, set season and career scoring records, was Most Valuable Player in the Middle Atlantic Conference in 1971, and was selected for the NorthSouth All-Star Game.
James W. McKee ’69
One of the founding members of the varsity lacrosse program at Bucknell. McKee was honored as a second team College Division All-American and All-Mid-Atlantic Conference selection. He was a co-captain as a senior and graduated as the leading goal-scorer at Bucknell.
Thomas H. Sanders ’79
Starting goalie for the lacrosse team for four straight years. He had a terrific senior campaign, earning All-ECC First Team and HM All-America honors. Sanders turned in several stellar performances in goal, including a 29-save outing vs. Army and 22 vs. Delaware that season. He held Bucknell records for saves in season (201) and a career (664), and still owns the mark for saves in a game (34).
Peter W. von Hoffman ’79
A four-time All-East Coast Conference lacrosse player and twice an All-America selection, vonHoffman set numerous school scoring records, was twice co-captain, was ECC Most Valuable Player in 1979 and was selected for the North-South Game.
Justin W. Zackey ’94
One of the most prolific scorers in Bison annals, Zackey still holds the Bucknell records for goals in a season (63) and career (138) and points in a season (79 in 1993). A two-time Honorable Mention All-American who led the nation in goals per game (4.20) in 1993, Zackey was a First Team All-Patriot League pick in 1993 and 1994 and was a two-time Academic All-American.

Thirty top-tier high school and club lacrosse teams will be showcased for college coaches and scouts. Conveniently held on the campus of Bucknell University, the adidas Bison Brawl Team Lacrosse Camp provides the ultimate team competition, multiple synthetic turf fields, illuminated stadium venue, ample parking, dormitory facilities, hotels, hospitality and exposure to the college admissions and athletic recruitment process — not specific to Bucknell University. The camp is held on Bucknell University’s 450-acre campus in the heart of the beautiful Susquehanna River Valley in Lewisburg, Pa. Bucknell’s campus is located adjacent to Rt. 15, just six miles south of I-80 and 55 miles north of Harrisburg, Pa. Campers compete in the 13,100-seat Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. With its recently-installed FieldTurf, it is one of the finest venues in all of college lacrosse. The camp also utilizes the newly renovated West Fields complex, which also offers a first-class atmosphere for lacrosse at any level. The camp provides state-of-the-art facilities and accommodations for a competitive lacrosse atmosphere. BISON LAX IN THE COMMUNITY My top priority as a head coach is to be sure that our program has a positive image on campus, in the community and in the lacrosse world. It is important to me that our student-athletes give back to the University, the community, and to the sport they love, and that these three entities are better with Bucknell Lacrosse than without. That said, I am proud to announce this year’s Community Service Plan. Our goal is to contribute 24 hours of community service per team member. That’s 42 student-athletes x 24 hours each = The U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne over 1,000 hours! We will be contributing Division, Co. A, 506th Regiment to many, many causes again this year. shows off care packages sent to The events and non-profit organizations Iraq by the Bison lacrosse team. that we will be supporting this year are as follows: Americans Supporting Americans – Our participation in this program has caught national attention and has sparked a number of universities, programs, churches, classrooms, etc., to join. We were the first university and certainly the first athletic team to participate in this wonderful program that supports U.S. troops overseas. No Excuses University – We send literature to elementary aged kids in Auburn, N.Y., promoting citizenship and academics. Best Buddies – One or two players each year enroll in the Best Buddies program, where they have an opportunity to build a relationship with a physically or mentally handicapped person in our area. Harvest Soup Kitchen – Team members will help serve at various times. Ronald McDonald House – “Grab a Tab” fundraising program. Colleges against Cancer – Team will take part in a 5K run on campus Oct. 21. AIDS Walk – Team will took part in a 1-hour AIDS walk in the Gerhard Fieldhouse on Nov. 5 at Bucknell. Employer Expo – Members of the team assisted in loading exhibits at Employer Expo on Bucknell’s campus. Event managed by the Career Development Office. THE PLAN FOR BUCKNELL Bucknell is a unique national university
