Bucknell takes great pride in its commitment to excellence on and off the playing fields. From Presidents’ Cups to Academic All-Americans to graduation rates that are ranked annually in the national top-10, Bucknell is clearly at the head of the class when it comes to upholding the scholar-athlete ideal.

25 of Bucknell’s 27 varsity squads posted team GPAs of 3.0 or better in the spring of 2011.

Bucknell has captured the Patriot League Presidents’ Cup, signifying the league’s all-sports champion, 17 times in the 21-year history of the affiliation, including 13 of the last 14 years. Bucknell claimed the overall, men’s and women’s Cup titles in 2010-11. It was the 14th straight year and the 17th time overall that the Bison took home the women’s title. In 2010-11, Bucknell won Patriot League titles in men’s soccer, men’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, women’s rowing and men’s and women’s outdoor track & field.

According to federal data released by the NCAA each fall, Bucknell’s student-athlete graduation rate annually ranks in the top 10 among all Division I institutions. Bucknell has led the nation in graduation rates twice in the last 11 years, and it ranked No. 2 in the 2008 study. In the most recent survey in the fall of 2010, Bucknell ranked No. 7 in the nation.

Bucknell has claimed a league-high 121 Patriot League Scholar-Athletes of the Year since the league’s inception as an all-sports conference in 1990-91.

In addition to the 120 Capital One Academic All-Americans produced since 1970, Bucknell has also claimed 314 Academic All-District honorees over the same span, including a school-record 22 in 2008-09 and 21 more in 2010-11.

A major element in ensuring Bucknell’s commitment to athletics excellence is the Kenneth G. Langone Athletics & Recreation Center, which opened fully in 2003. One of the finest collegiate athletics facilities of its kind, the center includes the 4,000-seat Sojka Pavilion, the Olympic class Kinney Natatorium, the Krebs Family Fitness Center and the Berger Family Weight Room. A Hall of Fame area, a display of Bucknell’s Medal of Honor recipients, a new Academic All-America wall, a sports medicine suite, modern offices for coaches and staff, and locker room and classroom space are also included in the facility’s layout.

With six Patriot League championships in 2010-11, Bucknell has now earned 87 crowns in 21 years in the league. In addition, Bucknell has had 113 conference players of the year, 93 PL coaches of the year and a whopping 511 individual league champions from sports such as cross country, track & field, swimming & diving, tennis and golf.

Bucknell Bison Athletics

A National Model in Promoting the Scholar-Athlete Ideal Bucknell Athletics is first and foremost a student-centered organization, one that strives to be a national model when it comes to operating by a true scholar-athlete model. At Bucknell, student-athletes’ academic programs are their first priority, and providing a competitive Division I athletics program only advances the mission, values and residential learning goals of the university. To that end, the Department of Athletics and Recreation proactively seeks ways to assist student-athletes in their daily academic pursuits. Below are just some of the student-athlete support programs currently in place. FACULTY ATHLETICS REPRESENTATIVE: The faculty athletics representative (FAR) is a member of the faculty or administrative staff who is designated to represent Bucknell in its relationships with the NCAA and the Patriot League. Bucknell’s FAR is Mitch Chernin, Professor of Biology. The FAR can enhance the student-athlete experience by promoting a balance between academics, athletics and the social lives of student-athletes, which affords them opportunities to enjoy the full range of collegiate experiences available to students generally. SIDELINE COACH PROGRAM: This program is a truly unique initiative in Division I college athletics, and it involves the invitation of a member of the faculty, administration, staff or community by one of Bucknell’s 27 varsity teams. The participant has the opportunity to discuss the overall program with the respective coaching staff, including practice preparation and strategy for the upcoming contest. The sideline coach attends a practice session and an actual intercollegiate competition, where he/she is introduced to the team and gains rarely seen insight into the relationships that exist between player-coach and player-player. The purpose of the Sideline Coaches Program is to foster a better understanding by the faculty and administration of the roles played by coaches and athletes in the university’s competitive intercollegiate athletic arena. ACADEMIC ENHANCEMENT CENTER: In the Fall of 2005, the Department of Athletics opened a study/computer lab for student-athletes on the concourse level of Sojka Pavilion. The center is outfitted with computers, a laser printer, four television monitors and a projection unit with computer, VCR and DVD player. Additionally, the study lab can be used as a meeting place for group projects, tutorial area or just a secluded and quiet study space before or after practice. LAPTOP PROGRAM: The Department of Athletics owns a number of laptop computers that may be signed out by student-athletes for use on away trips. STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SAAC): Representatives from each varsity team comprise the SAAC, which is designed to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image. The Committee is an invaluable resource for promoting communication between athletics administration and student-athletes; promoting communication between athletics and campus-wide administration; providing feedback and insight, as well as soliciting responses into department issues and proposed NCAA legislation; building a sense of community within the athletics program involving all athletics teams; organizing community service projects and efforts; creating a vehicle for student-athlete representation on campus-wide committees; serving as a collective voice of campus student-athletes; and disseminating information to the student-athlete body. OTHER PROGRAMMING: The Department of Athletics, through the identification of outside speakers and periodic “Brown Bag Luncheons,” thrives to enhance the quality of the student-athlete experience as well as to educate student-athletes on a variety of issues that may affect them throughout their collegiate career. Some recent topics of interest have been alcohol, nutrition, body image, hazing, sexuality, diversity, career development, study skills, religious life and gambling.

Bucknell Athletics Facilities THE KENNETH LANGONE ATHLETICS and RECREATION CENTER The Bucknell University Department of Athletics and Recreation prides itself on setting the standard of excellence when it comes to success both on the playing fields and in the classroom. With 17 Patriot League Presidents’ Cups in 21 years, national leadership in graduation rates, 120 Academic All-Americans in 41 years and 121 Patriot League Scholar-Athletes in 21 years, Bucknell is clearly at the head of the class in terms of upholding the scholar-athlete model. The addition of the Kenneth G. Langone Athletics and Recreation Center, one of the finest collegiate athletics and recreation venues of its kind, ensures the continuation of that success. The facility enhances each of Bucknell’s 27 varsity programs and greatly expands the scope of its growing intramural and recreational sports offerings. A visually appealing structure located along Moore Avenue on the “downhill” side of campus, the Langone Athletics and Recreation Center was designed to reach out to all members of the campus community, including the student body, varsity student-athletes, faculty, staff and alumni. Three primary venues lie within the facility: the Arthur D. Kinney Jr. Natatorium, the 4,000-seat Gary A. Sojka Pavilion and the Krebs Family Fitness Center. Other features include a new location for the Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame, a display of Bucknell’s Congressional Medal of Honor recipients, a brand new display highlighting Bucknell’s all-time Academic All-Americans, a sports medicine and athletic training suite, classrooms, modern offices for coaches and staff and increased locker room space for varsity and recreational athletes. The facility is named in honor of Ken Langone, a 1957 Bucknell graduate who, along with his wife Elaine, pledged $11 million toward the center’s construction. Langone was a member of the university Board of Trustees from 1980 to 1996. One of the special qualities of the Langone Athletics and Recreation Center is the manner in which it supplements the pre-existing facilities. The construction surrounds Gerhard Fieldhouse and historic Davis Gymnasium, which has been restored as a competition venue for the Bison wrestling and volleyball teams, as well as intramural, recreation and other varsity practice activities. As Bucknell continues to strive toward its mission of setting the standard of excellence in college athletics, the Langone Athletics and Recreation Center becomes the centerpiece in an already impressive cache of athletics facilities that includes the 13,100-seat Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium and its FieldTurf and 8-lane track surface; the scenic Bucknell Golf Club and brand new indoor instructional golf center; the newly refurbished Depew Field (baseball) and Becker Field (softball); and Emmitt Field and Graham Field at Holmes Stadium, the new portion of the West Fields project that includes covered grandstand seats, ticket and concession areas, team rooms, a training room and a press box area for soccer, field hockey and women’s lacrosse.

Head Coach Bucknell ’96 • Seventh Season LANDIS’ COACHING RECORD • Overall: 78-61-11 (.557) • At Bucknell: 62-49-5 (.556)

Since Ben Landis took over as head coach of the Bucknell women’s soccer program in 2005, the Bison have enjoyed the most successful six-year span in program history, capturing a Patriot League tournament title in 2005 followed by back-to-back regular-season crowns in 2006 and 2007 and runnerup finishes in 2008, 2009 and 2010. With a record of 62-49-5 at the helm of the Orange and Blue (30-11-1 in Patriot League play), Landis helped the Bison surpass the 10-win plateau in each of his first five seasons, marking the first time in program history the squad posted double-digit wins in at least three consecutive seasons. The Bison have also qualified for the Patriot League Tournament in each of his six seasons, and Landis enters the 2011 season tied with Chrissy Findlay for the most coaching wins in program history. In his first season back at his alma mater in 2005, Landis guided Bucknell to its second Patriot League championship, one of many successes the Bison achieved under his direction that season. The squad more than doubled scoring production from the year before, and went on to face Penn State in the NCAA Tournament. In 2006, the Bison reached new heights, tying school records for wins, both overall (12) and in league play (6), and breaking the team’s previous marks for best goals-against average (0.99), winning percentage (.735) and winning and unbeaten streaks after posting seven consecutive victories. The Bison also earned their first Mid-Atlantic regional rankings from both SoccerBuzz and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and posted its first win over a nationally ranked opponent, handing No. 14 Navy, which held a 19-0-0 record at the time, a 2-1 loss in the final game of the regular season to clinch a share of the Patriot League regular season title and earn the right to play host to the league tournament as the No. 1 seed. In 2007, Landis coached Bucknell to a 5-1-1 league mark, earning the squad the right to host the Patriot League Tournament as the regular season champion. The Bison, who finished as the tournament-runners up, posted an 11-8-1 overall mark, including a convincing 4-1 win over traditional Ivy League power Princeton. In 2008, Bucknell won 11 more matches and went 5-2 in league play. Landis’ squad broke the school record with eight shutouts and posted a big 3-2 road win over Maryland. He also coached Jennifer Dervarics to her second straight Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year honor. In 2009, Landis’ squad went 10-8-1 overall and 5-2 in the league, and for the first time in program history the team earned a point against Penn State with a 0-0 draw in front of a large home crowd. Christa Matlack was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year. Injuries played a major role in ending Bucknell’s run of winning seasons in 2010, but the Bison again posted a 5-2 Patriot League record and qual-

ified for the postseason. And for the fifth year in a row Landis coached a major award winner, as Matlack repeated as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and an NSCAA Scholar All-American. Stephanie Anderson, a former star forward at Nebraska Wesleyan and most recently a graduate assistant coach at Drury, joined Ben Landis’ staff at Bucknell in February 2011. Anderson completed a master’s degree in organizational leadership and change at Drury, located in Springfield, Mo., where she has been part of the women’s soccer staff for the last two seasons. During her playing career at Nebraska Wesleyan, Anderson played in all 73 games in four seasons, starting all but four. She helped her team achieve an overall record of 50-18-5 (.719) as a player, including back-to-back Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season titles in 2005 and 2006. NWU put together a 26-matches home winning streak (23-0-3), which was the second longest active streak in Division III women’s soccer. Anderson ranked ninth all-time in career goals with 32, was a three-time all-conference selection and earned four letters for the Prairie Wolves. As a sophomore she was named offensive MVP and received the honor again as a senior, when she was also named team MVP.

Amanda Webb joined the Bison women’s soccer coaching staff in the summer of 2011. A 2008 graduate of Dartmouth College and a three-year starting goalkeeper for the Big Green, Webb comes to Bucknell from Brandeis University, where last fall she served as an assistant coach for a team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. As a student-athlete at Dartmouth, Webb helped the Big Green achieve a top-20 national ranking while setting the program record for lowest goalsagainst average. Dartmouth earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament in her

sophomore year in 2005. After graduation, Webb interned in the Student Life Department at The American Farm School in Thessaloniki, Greece. In addition to educating high school and college-aged students about American culture, she was the head coach of the school’s men’s college soccer team and assisted with the boys’ and girls’ high school teams. After one acadmic year in Greece, Webb served as the goalkeeping coach at Division I Northeastern University while completing her master’s degree in education at Boston University. In 2009 Northeastern earned the CAA regular-season title and hosted the CAA Championship, and Webb helped goalkeeper Stephanie Gordon earn second-team all-conference honors. Last year Webb moved on to Brandeis, where she was the only assistant coach on one of the most successful teams in program history. The Judges finished with a 15-5-1 record and won an NCAA Tournament game for the first time.

Casey Crowley The Bucknell women’s soccer program has been a model of stability since Ben Landis took over as head coach in 2005. Since then the Bison have won 10 or more games and finished with winning records in five of six seasons, they have qualified for the four-team Patriot League Tournament every year and posted toptwo regular-season finishes in each of the last five years. Landis once again has high hopes in 2011, even though for the first time in several years he enters the season with some uncertainty personnel-wise after graduating six starters and seven key players. Bucknell was hit hardest by graduation in the offensive half of the field, where striker Christa Matlack, the two-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, along with three-time all-league attacking midfielder Kelliann Doherty and three-time all-conference midfielder Caitlin Holtz have all received their diplomas. Those were Bucknell’s top three scorers in 2010, and that trio combined for 56 goals, 41 assists and 153 points in their careers. Factor in the loss of another playmaker in outside midfielder Brooke Stokes, and there are plenty of opportunities for younger players to step into prominent roles this fall. Defensively, Bucknell must replace four-year starting center backs Kelsey Johnson and Amanda Citron, as well as part-time starting back Julianne Harris. Injuries to Johnson and Citron last year opened the door for some younger players to get some game experience, and they will be counted on to close the door in front of veteran goalkeepers Sandita McDermott and Colleen Garrehy. “Yes, we lost a great class that will always have a special place in my heart, but that is done and we can only look forward,” says Landis. “The word ‘rebuilding’ is not in our vocabulary. We have six starting spots to fill, but the talent is there to do it. This is a very coachable group that is young and eager, and we have five seniors who are extremely motivated to go out on top. Our goals remain the same as every year: to qualify for the Patriot League Tournament, find a way to get into the final, and then play our best 90 minutes or more in the final in order to lift a trophy at the end.” Serving as captains in 2011 are senior Casey Crowley, a four-year starting outside back, and senior center midfielder Tara Cort, who made an immediate impact last season after transferring in from Clemson. Both are expected to be key figures again this season. “I am really excited about our leadership,” says Landis. “We have the right two captains, and really the

entire senior class has been great. Casey has seen it all during her time at Bucknell, and she is just a great competitor. Coming in as a transfer, Tara brought a very interesting perspective to the team. She was so steady last year and was close to scoring a lot of goals.” Sadie Canter, Megan DeGennaro and Garrehy round out the senior class. An outstanding attacking player, DeGennaro has four career goals and has the potential for more. Canter, a vocal leader in the back or midfield, has made a welcome return to the squad after missing all of last season with an injury, while Garrehy is once again locked up in a preseason battle with McDermott for the starting spot in goal. “Megan and Sadie both studied abroad last spring, and it is great to have them back,” Landis says. “Megan’s best game last season came against Lehigh in the Patriot League Tournament, and I think that is still fresh in her mind. We are counting on her to produce goals. And we are so excited to have Sadie back out there. She has made an immediate impact from a leadership standpoint, and she is a very tough player. “Colleen is competing for the starting position after a terrific spring. Depth in the goal is definitely one of our strengths. We have two keepers who can play at this level, and you may see us use both of them unless one really rises above.” After sharing time early in 2010, it was McDermott who grabbed the goaltending reins a few weeks into the season. She ended up starting 17 matches while seeing reserve time in two others. McDermott made 104 saves while allowing 29 goals and posted three shutouts. Garrehy collected 18 saves while conceding six goals in five appearances, three of which were starts. She also had a clean sheet against Ohio early in the season. Bucknell employs four in the back line, where Crowley and junior Corinne Collins are both returning starters, and Canter brings yet another veteran presence after returning from injury. Collins played a bit out of position at outside back last season, and now she moves inside where she can better utilize her height and athleticism. Junior Meghan Fitzpatrick and sophomore Bridget Gilmartin both pack tremendous potential, but neither has played in a varsity game yet due to injury. If healthy, both could be major contributors. Landis says Gilmartin was perhaps the team’s best player in the spring, and he feels that when healthy Fitzpatrick is one of the best players he’s recruited at Bucknell. Landis is also high on a pair of freshman defenders in Hannah Bonotto and Courtney Nelson, who hail from California and Arizona, respectively. Bonotto came in with a reputation as a terrific communicator and organizer who deals well with pressure. Just a few days into preseason training Nelson already appeared to be a difference-maker, showing skill with both feet and the physical toughness to win 50-50 balls in dangerous spots. In the middle of the field Cort figures to play a prominent role again this fall, and combined with junior Taryn Boucher the Bison have good size and strength at center mid. Junior Jenna Tryon has contributed playing time at both midfield and back in her career and brings good versatility on the flanks. Junior Emily Trosch and sophomores Liz Dwornik, Corey Tipton and Alex Degarmo also return with game experience. Dwornik played in 17 games and made eight starts as an attacking midfielder and scored her first collegiate goal last season. Four members of the first-year class are all hoping to make early contributions at midfield. At center mid, Evelyn Nicinski has made very positive early impressions. A member of the Polish national team, Nicinski is a tough, athletic player who can cover box-to-box with excellent vision.

Outside, Michaela Berman can play both midfield and defense, and she has a good soccer sense coming out of Eclipse Select, one of the top clubs in the United States. Vix Matthews brings an aggressive attacking attitude to the wings, and Courtney Doud offers great speed to the wide midfield position. Up front, replacing a two-time conference player of the year and continuous scoring threat like Matlack will not be easy, but Landis feels that junior Kayla Yee, when healthy, has the potential to produce significant points. Yee scored in the season opener against St. Bonaventure last season, but then injured her knee against Louisville two games later. She did return for league play at the end of the campaign but was never fully fit. Now she enters 2011 with high hopes. DeGennaro and sophomore Chelsey Garkowski also return with experience at forward, while freshmen Brigit Falcón and Cassie Denger both look good early. Falcón is a target forward who strikes the ball very well, while Denger is the most prolific scorer among the recruits, having piled up more than 40 goals at Nazareth High School in Eastern Pennsylvania. Coming into the season Landis is pleased with his team’s fitness, and he has tweaked the schedule a bit in an attempt to avoid as many early season two-game weeks as the team had last season. After opening with St. Bonaventure at home, the Bison play their next six on the road before closing out September with a threegame homestand. The middle game of that set is a clash with Penn State at Emmitt Field. The last time the Nittany Lions came to Lewisburg, Bucknell gritted out a scoreless tie against the Big Ten powers. Like last season, all of the non-league action will be out of the way by the time Patriot League play starts on Oct. 1 at Colgate. In a bit of a scheduling quirk, the Bison play their first four league games on the road, followed by their final three at home against Lehigh, Lafayette and Navy. After posting a 5-2 record and qualifying as the No. 2 seed, Bucknell dropped a 1-0 decision to Lehigh in the Patriot League semifinals last season. The taste of that setback still lingers with the returning players, and even with the large number of new faces, they clearly have their sights set on bigger and better things in 2011.

The 2001 Bucknell women’s soccer team defeated American and Navy on its way to winning the Patriot League Championship and earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The third-seeded Bison downed the top-seeded Mids 2-1 in overtime to claim its first-ever Patriot League title. Lauren Schwarz scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick 3:07 into overtime. Bucknell fell to seventh-ranked Penn State 3-1 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bison finished the season with a 12-7-0 record and were led in scoring by Savannah Rennels, who tallied 12 goals and one assist. She and Lindsay Slomer were named to the All-Patriot League First Team. Tara Utchel landed a spot on the all-league second team, while freshman Ashley Dincher garnered Patriot League Co-Rookie of the Year honors. Chrissy Findlay was named Coach of the Year.

In 2005, the Bucknell women’s soccer team upset Lehigh and Army to become the first No. 4 seed in Patriot League history to win the postseason tournament. The Bison downed the Black Knights by a 3-1 margin in the championship game after advancing past No. 1 seed Lehigh in the semifinal round with a thrilling 6-5 decision in penalty kicks after playing to a 1-1 draw with the Mountain Hawks. Shannon Curd was named Patriot League Tournament MVP . Bucknell faced Penn State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and fell by the score of 6-0. The Bison ended 2005 with a record of 11-9-1, 4-3-0 in the Patriot League. Jennifer Margolis led the team in scoring with 13 goals and three assists for 29 points. Margolis represented the Orange and Blue on the All-Patriot League First Team while Krista Lee Gentile was named to the all-league second team.

TOPS IN SALARY POTENTIAL

According to a Bucknell Career Development Center survey of the Class of 2010, 94 percent of the respondents were either employed or attending graduate school six months after graduation. Of Bucknell’s 881 graduates in that class, 861 (98 percent) responded to the survey. Of that portion of the class, 60 percent were employed, 24 percent were enrolled in graduate school, four percent were both employed and in graduate school part-time, and six percent were still seeking employment. Of those attending graduate school, 19 percent are pursuing degrees in social sciences and the humanities, 18 percent are in medical school, 10 percent are studying science, 13 percent are in law school and 17 percent are pursuing advanced degrees in engineering. The mean salary for the 2010 graduates responding to the survey was $50,172 and was highest for engineers. The mean salary for a graduate with a bachelor of science degree in engineering was $57,860, and the mean salary for a graduate with a bachelor of science degree in business administration was $51,762. Graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences had a mean salary of $44,299. Most 2010 graduates (80 percent) were employed in the Northeast, with Pennsylvania (26 percent), New York City (17 percent) and New Jersey (16 percent) leading the way. Among the most popular employers of Bucknell graduates were firms such as Accenture, AmeriCorps, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, KPMG, Merck & Company, Inc., Peace Corps, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Teach for America, Turner Construction, UBS and U.S. Army. A total of 42 percent of the class respondents secured employment through Bucknell on-campus interviews, Career Development Center leads, networking or offers from former employees.

Bucknell University alumni ranked No. 4 among liberal arts college graduates and among the highest for all colleges and universities in a 2011 PayScale College Salary Report released this summer. The annual survey, which launched in 2008, assesses median starting and mid-career salaries among graduates of top U.S. liberal arts colleges. This year, alumni from 1,003 schools participated. In this year’s report, Bucknell alumni had a median starting salary of $52,600 and a median mid-career salary of $108,000. The salary report also ranked Bucknell as 14th among all “top U.S. colleges,” including Ivy League and state universities, for mid-career earning potential. Bucknell alumni historically have had high job placement rates in their first year after graduation. Nine months after graduation, for instance, 84 percent of the members of the Class of 2010 were either employed or enrolled in graduate or professional school, according to Bucknell’s Career Development Center. A small percentage opted to travel, volunteer or do a combination of both. National Reputation A number of recent reports have served to underscore Bucknell’s national reputation: • In 2007, The Washington Monthly ranked Bucknell No. 7 among the best liberal arts colleges in the country when it comes to fostering research and promoting an ethic of service and social mobility. • In 2010, the Peace Corps listed Bucknell at No. 6 on its top 25 list of small colleges and universities producing Peace Corps Volunteers. • In February 2010, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine rated Bucknell as the 11th best value in private liberal arts colleges.

THE PLAN FOR BUCKNELL

LISA GIBBONS ’95 was Bucknell’s first true superstar in the sport of women’s soccer, and she holds school and Patriot League scoring records that may never be broken. Women’s soccer became a varsity sport at Bucknell in 1990, and in the program’s second year Gibbons came along and instantly helped the team to a seven-win season and credibility in Eastern soccer circles. She finished her career with a whopping 66 goals, 35 assists and 167 points. No other Bison player has scored more than 100 points or 39 goals since then. Gibbons scored 20 goals in 1993, then as a senior in 1994 she logged 19 goals and 19 assists for 57 points, the third-highest total in the nation that year. Gibbons was a First Team All-Patriot League selection three times, was the league’s rookie of the year in 1991 and the offensive player of the year in 1993. As a senior, she was named to the NSCAA AllMid-Atlantic Region Team and was a Christy Mathewson Award winner as the top athlete in her senior class. Gibbons became the first Bucknell women’s soccer player to be elected to the Hall of Fame, entering with the Class of 2006.

THE PATRIOT LEAGUE In its third decade of combining academic and athletic excellence, the Patriot League sponsors championships in 23 men’s and women’s sports. Initially started as an NCAA Division I-AA football conference in 1986, the Patriot League became an all-sport conference in 1990 and includes American, Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh and Navy as full members, and Fordham, Georgetown and MIT as associate members. These institutions are among the oldest and most prestigious in the nation and their alumni have, and continue to play leadership roles in shaping our country. Since 1998, the Patriot League has ranked first each year among all Division I conferences awarding athletic aid in the NCAA Graduation Rate Report. The League finished at the top spot with 96 percent of its teams reporting a graduation rate of 85 percent or higher in the most recent data. In addition, 90 Patriot League teams earned NCAA Academic Performance Program Public Recognition Awards after posting academic progress rate scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.
