The Bucks Student

By Emily West

We are excited to announce that we are now recruiting our Employability Ambassadors for 2021 – 2022!

This role will add a whole host of skills to your CV and will allow you to show your initiative in improving developmental opportunities for our members. We are all hoping for a year closer to normal so there should be plenty of opportunities to boost activities for your school.

You will focus on being responsible for supporting and developing the recreational and skills programme offered by the Big Deal and promoting all activities to increase participation and enhance membership development.

You will be working closely with the Training and Development Coordinator, course reps and your school officer to ensure we are providing a diverse, developmental and fun offer and you would be expected to be passionate about self-development and driven to help provide suitable opportunities for all members of Bucks Students’ Union.

This is an ideal opportunity for you to get involved in CV boosting activities and skills so that you leave university in the most employable position possible. No formal qualifications are required for this role and ambassadors will be given introductory training explaining the role and responsibilities and covering the basic skills required to undertake the role. Ongoing in-depth support is available throughout the year from the Students’ Union’s Training and Development Team and Sabbatical Officers.

Skills learnt will include written and verbal communication, networking and creativity, organisational skills and time management, providing you with specific examples to use in interview situations. And if all that’s not enough, you will get a FREE Employability Ambassador hoodie and automatic acceptance onto our Leadership Academy for 2021/2022 as well as an invite to our exclusive Union Awards 2022!

It is estimated that this will require a 2 hour per week time commitment although this will be flexible around your studies and depending on the programme of activities.

This position is open for applications now. So please visit our Bucks Students’ Union jobs page for further information and to apply. We look forward to hearing from you!
