Invisible disabilities
By Kate Gordon, Honor Fletcher
October edition 99
For people with hidden disabilities, what does it take to make it through the day? Courage.
Courage is needed in the moments that are tough and overwhelming, not when every things is going easy and well. Courage is to possess mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty!
Living each day with a disability, illness, pain or injury is a journey often filled with moments of tragedy and triumph. Many disabilities are invisible and are only known to the person themselves. The Invisible Disabilities Association want to learn about your stories of Visible Courage. They want to share your stories with the world! Your disability may not be visible, but your Courage is!
Visit invisibledisabilities.org to submit your story and get involved.

Disabilities Officer 2021-22 I am the Executive Officer for Disabilities for this academic year (2021/22). As part of bringing more awareness to hidden disabilities and their impact, We will be participating in "Invisible Disabilities Week" from 17 to the 23 of October 2021. This includes running podcasts recorded by Tamsin and Tasha last year with a new addition from myself and your Students Union President Honor Fletcher. I will be hosting our first networking session during this week; you'll be able to find us in The Venue on Wednesday 20 October between 12pm and 2 pm TBC. This session is open to everyone so, please pop in and say "Hi". Feel free to join our Facebook page "Buckinghamshire New University - Students with Disabilities Network (21-22)" ahead of this, and vote in our poll so we can find the most beneficial day to run future networking events. If you have any questions and/or ideas that you would like to see, I would love to hear from you.
