HIGHTOWN HOUSE Hightown is a charitable housing association (operating in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire) aiming to help people who need support and care or who cannot afford to buy or rent a home at market values. We do this by building hundreds of much needed new homes and providing care and supported housing services for a wide range of people. We currently manage over 8,600 homes - mostly in the Dacorum, St Albans, Watford, Aylesbury Vale, North Herts and Hertsmere districts and employ over 1,000 staff (mainly in our care and supported housing schemes).

WORKSHOPS CAREERS IN THE WILD WATERS OF THE CYBER WORLD Susanne Bitter – BITTER Solutions, Cyber Security Forum Initiative Tuesday 27 February, 10 – 11am , N3.13 Cybersecurity is a growing industry with a lot of opportunities for growth and development. It is an industry that has the potential to be lucrative, but it also comes with a lot of responsibility. Discussing possible career paths and sharing lessons learned. Susanne BITTER is the Managing Director of BITTER Solutions Ltd. and serves as the Head of Regional Strategic Alliances (United Kingdom) of Cyber Security Forum Initiative (CSFI). She has an MBA degree in Strategic Management from Nottingham Trent University (UK) and is a current PhD Candidate in the Information Security area at Royal Holloway, University of London. Susanne is a certified and passionate information security and data privacy professional with over 15 years of experience within the industry, and holding industry certifications such as CISM, ISO27001 Lead Auditor & Lead Implementer and ITIL amongst others. She is also multiple times Czech national powerlifting champion (IPF), holds a number of national records and frequently represents her country in international competitions across the world. She has been working in various business and consultancy positions across a wide range of industries, local authorities, pharmaceutical to oil & gas global companies. Susanne’s long-term career within Samsung has equipped her with truly global Information Technology skills, Governance, Risk and Compliance knowledge. She follows best practice frameworks in Information Security, Data Privacy, Risk Management, and Business Continuity.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS Jess2 (Hughes and Bradbury) - Bucks Students’ Union Tuesday 27 February, 11am – 1pm, N2.11 During the workshop, you will learn about the mental health continuum, how to support a teammate experiencing mental health difficulties and give them the motivation and confidence to make positive change in their lives as well as how to develop an action plan to teammates. You will receive a certificate to show that you have completed the accredited workshop.

HOW TO LAUNCH AND RUN A SMALL BUSINESS Jake Schogger - Commercial Law Academy Tuesday 27 February, 1 – 3pm, Online Practical tips for starting and growing a business as a student, based on the presenter’s experience of founding a business as a student and growing it into a 6-figure enterprise. Jake Schogger is a best-selling author, qualified lawyer, entrepreneur, strategy consultant, and career coach. He is the founder and CEO of City Career Series and Commercial Law Academy, a publishing company and e-learning platform that has sold ~50,000 handbooks and developed 22 online courses designed to help young professionals transition into City careers.

PUBLIC SPEAKING Hilary Lyons - Creatively Coaching Thursday 29 February, 11am – 2pm, N2.15 Did you know that 93% of effective communication is revealed through your voice and body language? Join this fun, experiential session to learn professional tips on dealing with nerves, effective body language and vocal techniques. Hilary is an award-winning Communication Skills Coach who offers training in public speaking, presentations and interview skills. She is passionate about giving people professional tips and techniques, so that they can feel confident in sharing their message with any audience.

WHAT I’VE LEARNED AS A BUSINESS OWNER (WITH NO BUSINESS EDUCATION) Charlie Knight - Red Beard Barbell Club Thursday 29 February, 2 – 3pm, N2.06 Important lessons I wish I’d learned before I started a business. I own a gym which I opened 5 years ago with a very limited understanding of what that would entail! Suffice to say, it’s been a steep learning curve of immense errors, misplaced loyalty, soaring highs and crushing lows and an overwhelming desire to keep going! Charlie Knight, Owner and Head Coach of Red Beard Barbell Club, brings over 16 years of coaching experience, specialising in Strength Sports. His journey includes an internship S&C position coaching at Harlequins RFU to now working with Olympians and Paralympian’s. In 2019, he took the bold step of opening Red Beard Barbell Club, a venture that not only weathered the storms of the Covid lockdowns but flourished, growing its membership in spite of them! Charlie has graced international stages, sharing his knowledge and experiences at events such as Bodypower 2017 and Bodypower India 2021. His dynamic approach to coaching, coupled with his personal journey through various sports, makes Charlie Knight a captivating and inspirational figure in the world of strength and conditioning.

BUILDING RESILIENCE Annice Thomas - Buckinghamshire New University Friday 1 March, 11am – 12pm, N2.02 Our resilience training course for individuals teaches delegates about the basic principles of resilience, and shows how these principles can help them become more productive and resilient to burnout.
