The Longmont Quilt Guild is excited to announce their Sixth Annual Quilt Show & Boutique, Friday, Oct. 18, 5-8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in Barn A of the Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont Colo. Admission is $5 for the show; children under 12 are free. There is no charge for entry to our boutique of quilted items for sale. The show features over 130 quilts made by Guild members, as well as antique quilt bed turnings by Jeananne Wright, mini-classes/demonstrations, Viewer’s Choice balloting in nine categories, a Children’s Corner, and exhibits highlighting the Guild’s Outreach activities. Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud is having our annual fundraising event, “Nite at the Races,” which will take place Nov, 2 from 6 to 10 p.m. It will be held at the Fountains of Loveland Event Center. The 17th Annual Secret Santa’s for the Elderly is currently seeking volunteers. The purpose of the Santa’s is to bring a smile and feeling of love and encouragement to elderly by providing a loving visitor. Volunteers will be paired with an adopted resident living in a nursing or assisted living home in Larimer County. A list is also provided if you’d like to take a simple gift along.
