Thursday, Dec. 12 The Winter Choir concert for all BHS choir students will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 in the auditorium at 7 p.m. This is a free concert. The theme of this year’s concert is “We Need a Little Christmas,” so join us for some wonderful holiday songs and get in the spirit of the season. Friday, Dec. 13 The Larimer County Commissioners will hold an in-house press conference. This press conference will be a status update on Larimer County’s road and bridge work connecting thousands of citizens to their properties post-flood 2013. The date is Friday, Dec. 13 and the press conference will be at 10:15 a.m. in the Hearing Room of the Larimer County Courthouse Offices Bldg., 200 W. Oak St., first floor. Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic is holding its Cat Caravan Adoption Fair from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 21 in the classroom at The Farm at Lee Martinez Park, featuring its “Adopt ’Til You Drop” cat adoption special. Many families consider bringing home a new pet around the holidays, so Fort Collins Cat Rescue is teaming up with Best Friends Animal Society to encourage those families to adopt with special discounts all season long. Adult cats age 6 months and older are only $12 to adopt all month, and beginning Dec. 13 the rescue will celebrate the “12 Strays of Christmas,” featuring a different adoptable kitty each day. The Cat Caravan event on Dec. 21 will showcase numerous kittens and cats, many of which have been living in foster homes. Foster volunteers on site can share with potential adopters information about the cats’ personalities and habits in a home environment. The adoption fee for kittens at the one-day event will be discounted 10 percent to only $90. All cats and kittens available for adoption have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped

and received appropriate testing. All adopters are required to fill out an adoption questionnaire before adopting. The Larimer County Department of Natural Resources is seeking professional visual artist applicants for 2014. The selected “Artist of the Year” will have the opportunity to create a piece of visual art inspired by a Larimer County park or open space which they will donate to the county. The Larimer County Natural Resources Department will host a public celebration of the final submitted artwork, will display the work for public viewing in a Larimer County building, and will publicize the selected artist whenever appropriately possible. The artist will host one public art-related program in order to increase the public’s appreciation of open spaces through art.
