This past week Brad McGuire with the National Guard Association of Michigan (NGAM) shared with our volunteers the grant opportunities such as car repairs, medical, housing for veterans and service members. Click here to view the full length call notes. PRESENTATION SUMMARY: National Guard Association of Michigan provides grant funding to veterans in need when funds are available. You must go to www.NGAM.org to find out if funding is still available. Veteran Support Grant that has 2 requirements: 1) must be a resident in the state ofMichigan 2) have an honorable discharge. The grants do not covertaxes (property or personal), personal loans, new or used car purchases, credit card debt, movingviolations, tuition, student loans, child support, secondary housing and carrepairs, gas for vehicle, food. The grantwindow is open right now! In the past NGAM has run out of funds. When this happensthey take down the application and open it again when funds are available. EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS: Are youlocated north of Mount Pleasant? Volunteerwith the UP State Fair! We will provide mileage for those attending andtickets are free for families attending.
