“By earning these Google career certificates, participants will boost their skill sets and demonstrate proficiency in each high-demand area,” said Brian Hoffman, CCC associate dean of career and technical sciences.
“Plus, they will be part of a growing network of professionals with the same passion for learning and growth.”
The free certificates are made possible through a partnership between Google and the American Association of Community Colleges in support of rural community colleges. The curriculum is designed by subject matter experts at Google and prepare learners for more than 1.5 million jobs in highdemand, high-growth fields.

City Parks and Recreation Announces Opening Date of Swimming Facilities
The City of Grand Island swimming facilities will open for the summer starting Saturday, May 27. All facilities are open seven days a week. Operational hours are as follows:
Island Oasis Water Park, 321 East Fonner Park Rd.:
Monday – Wednesday: Noon - 6:00pm
Thursday – Sunday: Noon - 8:00pm
Lincoln Pool, 716 N. Lambert: Noon to 6 p.m.
Wading Pools: 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.:
Lincoln Park, 715 Beal St. Pier Park, 500 S. Oak St.
Grace Abbott Park, 601 W. State St.
Splash Pads: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
Admission for Island Oasis is $8 for youth ages 5 to 15 and seniors ages 55 and up and $9 for adults ages16 to 54. A one-time family pass is also available for two adults and up to four kids for $30. Citizens also have the option of buying individual season passes. Passes are $80 for youth ages 5 to 15 and for seniors ages 55 and up and $90 for adults ages 16 to 54.
The City is also offering a Gold season pass this year which includes free locker rental and 10 percent off concession items. All these extras are only $20 more than the individual pass prices for the season. Group discounts are also available for 10 or more people. Admission prices for Lincoln Pool is only $3.50 for youth ages 5 to 15 and seniors 55 and up and $4.50 for adults ages 16 to 54. Children four and under are free with a paying adult. Wading pools are free for children to use. No lifeguards are on duty at the wading pools.
