About Destination Kaleidoscopic and ever-changing, Vietnam is a nation on the move. While its biggest cities race into the modern age, rural towns and mountain villages maintain a magical timelessness. Along 3000 kilometres of coastline lies some of Asia’s most astounding natural scenery, but its allure lies in the fascinating juxtaposition of old and new. Discover this country of contrasts, where opposing cultural forces coexist in fascinating harmony.

“There are so many things to love about Vietnam, my home country. I was born in Lai Chau, in the northwestern region of Vietnam, where my parents met each other. I’ve grown up and lived in Hanoi almost all my life. Hanoi, the capital, is full of energy and fun to explore. I enjoy motorbiking around town with my wife and daughter in the back, who are terrible back seat drivers and remind me to cruise below 25 kilometres an hour instead of the city speed limit of 40 kilometres! ” Tran Gia Bach Country Manager

itinerary Day 1-3: Phnom Penh Start your journey through the Land in the Khmer Kingdom in the historic capital, Phnom Penh. This thriving and dynamic city grew from the meeting point of Tonle Sap River and the mighty Mekong as it makes its way into Vietnam. Here, visit the Royal Palace that stands as a testament to the magnificence of the 19th Century Khmer dynasty. Head onward to the National Museum, where centuries’ worth of treasure serve as a timeline for the rich history of the region. At the Museum of Genocide, witness how the country’s sordid past nearly decimated the vibrant heritage and culture of Cambodia. Wrap up your time in the capital with a visit to a nearby silk weaving community, whose age-old traditions are now only threatened by the rapid modernisation of the region. Day 4-5: Angkor Wat In contrast to the elegant riches in the Royal Palace, the temples at Angkor stand as a reminder of the ancient Khmer peoples’ mastery of construction over a thousand years ago. Witness the sheer tenacity with which ancient Khmer structures have grappled with the encroaching jungle over the centuries. Along a journey to Angkor’s most famous temples, see the proud gate of Angkor Thom standing guard over a vast bridge flanked by snakes, and explore the jungleengulfed structure at Ta Phrom. Wrap up the adventure with a visit to the smiling stone faces of the Bayon and the magnificent Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of this ancient civilisation’s mesmerizing architecture. Day 6-7: Siem Reap Get an intimate look at the lifestyles of rural Cambodia with a visit to a small, rustic community village outside of Siem Reap. Learn traditional methods of farming, fishing, and animal husbandry with hands-on demonstrations alongside the locals, and explore the farmland on the back of ox cart before enjoying a traditional lunch with a local family. About Destination As one of the least-populated countries in Asia, Laos holds within its borders enough uncharted allure and scenic beauty to astound every visitor who steps foot there. But what enchants visitors to Laos most is its spiritual intrigue, which permeates its distinctly laid-back capital city through to its tiny rural villages. With the scent of burning incense or chanting of Buddhist monks, travellers here are unlikely to find another destination more ethereal or fascinating.

Touy Syhalath Country Manager

“There are so many interesting things about living in Laos - my homeland. I’ve lived in Luang Prabang for over 10 years – the former capital located where the Mekong and Khan rivers meet. The city is full of unspoiled culture and a mix of Laos and French architecture. If I’m not cycling the surrounding countryside, I love just walking down the riverbanks in the city. As often as I can, I love to get up into the mountains and enjoy the views. But if I had to pick my favourite thing about my home, it’s that it’s so relaxed, and everyone seems to know each other.”
