Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville signed autographs during the WGN Radio, Chicago Blackhawks Food Drive at the Dupage Township Food Pantry Nov. 20 in Romeoville.
More than 1,300 families drove up to the DuPage Township Food Pantry and drove into a community ready to give back. In NASCAR-like fashion, cars lined up for the pantry’s annual food donation event and visited six pit stops where trunks were loaded with all the staples for a Thanksgiving dinner.
In addition this year, WGN Radio performed a live broadcast from the pantry encouraging listeners to come out and donate to keep the pantry throughout the holiday season. In return, members of the Chicago Blackhawks came out to lend their support with Blackhawks Coach Joel Quenneville dolling out autographs, and Eddie Olczyk, Blackhawks television color-analyst See BLACKHAWKS, page 2
Bolingbrook Chamber President steps down By Laura Katauskas Staff Reporter
As President and CEO of the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce, Mike Evans worked hard to draw development to the area and enhance the village’s economic reputation. He
hopes he’s leaving the business community better for it. Evans may be stepping down effective Dec. 7, but he says Bolingbrook always will be part of his professional life. He will be assuming the position of President and CEO of the Naperville Area Chamber of
Commerce. “It has been a privilege to serve the Chamber as CEO, as well as the Bolingbrook community,” said Evans. “I look forward to building business relationships throughout the region. The members, staff, board and volunteers will always
remain an important part of my personal and professional life. “To truly succeed in this industry, you have to remember that we serve our businesses and communities. Chambers of Commerce will continue to play a defining role in the success of our economy in America.”
Following his five-year career with the Bolingbrook Chamber, he hopes people would see his “crowning glory,” as changing the role of the chamber from a focus on community events to a focus on being a regular See CHAMBER, page 3
