2024 Summer Concert Series rocks Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL—All summer, Fishel Park in Downers Grove will come alive with the vibrant beats of the 2024 Summer Concert Series, proudly presented by The Eric Hamilton Team at Guaranteed Rate. The 13-week series will bring live music to the community on Tuesday evenings from May 21 through August 13. The free, family-friendly concerts are held at Veterans Memorial Pavilion in Fishel Park located at 1036 Grove St. (just west of Main Street) in Downers Grove. Music plays from 7:00 to 8:30pm and food, beer and wine sales begin at 6 pm.

Attendees of the concerts are encouraged to arrive with an appetite, as a variety of food trucks and vendors will be on rotation. Food vendors will include Boom Box Burgers, Dope Sandwich Truck, Every Day’s a Sundae, Grumpy Gaucho, Poundcake Bakery, Sarpino’s Pizza and Wells Street Popcorn. For those aged 21 and older, refreshing adult beverages can be purchased for $7 per ticket (ID required), while bottled water will be offered at $2 each. Adult beverages on tap will include Surly Furious IPA, Alter Brewing Center Line, Stella Artois and Ciderboys Hard Cider in addition to a variety of wines and seltzers available. “In 2023, Fishel Park hosted an unprecedented attendance of 20,000 visitors, setting a new record for the Downers Grove Park District. We are excited to reveal the diverse array of bands scheduled for this summer, spanning from Motown and soul music to country and contemporary hits. This lineup ensures there’s something for every age group and musical preference,” said Pusateri.

Summer fun starts at oswegoland Park District

Kick off your summer with PrairieFest, the area’s popular community festival June 13-16! Presented by the Oswegoland Park District, PrairieFest combines small town charm with a stirring summer celebration over Father’s Day weekend.

Free concerts from a mix of national and local bands, along with entertaining performances have always been a highlight of the weekend, and this year’s lineup is sure not to disappoint. Partnered with free parking and free admission, PrairieFest has kicked off the summer since 1989.

Main Stage entertainment includes Deana Carter, Better Than Ezra, American English, The Ron Burgundys, The Cowboy Co. Music Show, There Goes The Neighborhood, and Jeff & Kurt’s Acoustic Refreshment.

The Little White School Museum in downtown Oswego offers another opportunity for free fun in Oswegoland. Built as a church in 1850, then used as a school until the mid 1960’s, the building is now a history museum open to the public and an archive of local Oswegoland history.

Summer camps take flight June through august

Flight Basketball is based out of the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Flight was founded in the winter of 2019 by Brandin Brown and Marcus Riley. Flight focuses on the development of the studentathletes ranging from age 5 to 17 of-

fering multiple programs for all skill levels.

Flight believes that players should have the opportunity to develop on and off the floor at an individual pace that fits them. We are determined to ALWAYS do right by the player, putting each player in position to develop their physical/mental skill, confidence, and IQ in the game of basketball.

Flight runs programs in the spring/summer, fall, and winter in which each offer a different focus for the player. We offer Local, Regional, and AAU National teams to fit the needs of all players.

Flight Summer Basketball Camps take place June- August. We offer different camps to fit all skill levels.

Flight National teams compete in all the high level tournaments including Under Armour, NY2LA, GNBA, Made Hoops and Prep Hoops
