Even though school is out for the summer, don’t be surprised if you see Wood View Elementary School students spending a lot of time at their school. The Wood View students have a new garden to tend to thanks to an effort led by Wood View Library Director Mr. Felix Soto and supported by Wood View’s staff and parents. Our cold and wet spring weather delayed the delivery of the dirt, but once the dirt arrived, students were able to place plants in the planters which were paid for by a grant from the Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation. Of course, the plants will need to be tended to over the summer and that task will be done by students attending the summer library program. Once school starts again in August, harvest time will begin and will continue until the first frost.
