Green Village Program continues Sept. 3 Get started on Autumn Garden, Landscaping checklist

The 2019 Green Village Series continues on Tuesday, September 3, at 7 p.m., at the Plainfield Library, 15025 S. Illinois St. With the warm summer months ending, Master Gardener Beverly Scheidt offers cleanup techniques to benefit pollinators, birds, and bugs through the fall, winter, and early spring. Register online. The Green Village Series is a partnership between the Plainfield Library and the Village to provide the community with environmentally-friendly programs. It is an ecologically friendly initiative that incorporates a variety of plans and ordinances determined to be sensitive to the needs of the environment through new development and day-to-day activities in the Village of Plainfield. The “Green Village” initiative evolved due to the nationally rising green movement and the Village’s desire to practice environmentally friendly best management practices and to commit to urban sustainability. Registration for this event will close on September 3, 2019 @ 7:00pm. As of Tuesday, there are 40 seats remaining.
